Pablo posted some good prices above. Id go that route or M1 EP 5w20 and an M1 filter just for added piece of mind. You say you are going north..but during summer.. when 0w20 wont be of any benefit over the 5W20.

What does that really mean though? It's been noted that it would be extremely difficult to prove anything. I mean - what do you do? Maybe provide a UOA that the oil has a TBN of zero after 10K miles and maybe they send a coupon for 5 quarts of M1?

While we all know it would be hard to collect against any oil manufacturer warranty, the fact is Mobil puts out different warranty mileage values for different products, and at the very least we can use these to select the correct product for the intended OCI.

If you're referring to the Honda, that oil was Mobil (non-1) Super 5000, which is NOT warranted by Mobil for 10K miles and was often run beyond 10K miles without UOA's due to the MM, in an engine known to be hard on oil. In a case like this, it is no surprise if Mobil refused to warrant that engine!

Actually, XOM says "5000 miles or the factory recommended OCI, whatever is longer"

Their website says something to that effect, but it's not specifically on the bottle. It does say something about following the manufacturer's recommended interval when under warranty.
