0W-20 for Acura TL V6

Hello,

I have a 2006 Acura TL VTEC-6...it calls for 5W-20....I have been running Mobil 1 5W-20 since 10K....I have 24K miles now...The car is in Washington State...mild winters...I have been following the maintenance minder and changing the oil at 0% which has resulted in about 6600 mile OCIs...

Thinking about 0W-20 for my car....Do you guys see any benefits or negatives to such a switch....

More than likely no benefits or negatives in the real world.

Only 0W20 that you can find over the counter is Mobil 1, the benefit is small in term of fuel economy and cold start, no negative. Since Mobil 1 0W20 and 5W20 are priced the same, I would choose 0W20 over 5W20.

If your choices are any brand synthetic 5W20 versus Mobil 1 0W20, then PP or Synpower 5W20 may be a better choice since they are on sale more often.
