Prob gonna b buying an 08 escape tomorrow. The change oil light is on. So ima change it when we buy it. Dont know the oil history but it does have a fram xg on it. Car has 139k on. What type of oil and filter should i use?

Call me nuts but can't go wrong with PYB 5w20 and a MC(Mororcraft filter). Or you could use MC synblend 5w20 and FRAM TOugh guard filter. I would go 6k depending on driving habit/style
Completely forgot about motorcraft syn blend oil. Good choice. I mite try tht and it dont consume and oil try a full syn.
I'd go with another fram ultra and valvoline synpower or mobil 1.id check owners manual for oci but should be good for 8,000 unless you do tons of city driving and short drives. Then reduce it some.
I'd stay away from the mc filter they aren't exempt to the puro tears. Wix would also be a great filter

So PP with a motorcraft oil filter for the life of the OLM overkill?
Well dealer is gonna throw a set of tires, alignment, and oil change in the deal so oil is taken care of for now.
Don't forget all of the other fluids.
