Got my report yesterday on my 2007 Z06 that is bone stock. I purchased the car in august. Had a funky feeling it didn’t have proper oil changes on time so I s ent them a sample.

No idea when or what kind of oil was used.

I wouldn’t be concerned at all unless the trend continues. Blackstone has flagged high iron on two first time samples I have sent them. Both normalized in the following samples.

Yeah we will see. I have a feeling the oil changes on this car wasn’t very frequent. Then again it has low mileage.

Who knows. The fun of buying a used car. They also have a bad cylinder head design where the valve guides fair and exhaust valve just drops in the engine and boom.

Boroscope it ?

If possible ...

Leak down test it ?

I would do that just those and that would give you a better idea/baseline to know where to the car's at.

Burning any oil ?

That oil looks like Mobil 1 5w30 the way the additive package looks.

Pretty sure is is mobile one. I’ll do a compression test. It’s a bone stock car with very low mileage as I mentioned. But we will see.

I can’t comment on burning any oil. I haven’t driven it hardly at all since o got it.

Yeah drive it some to see if it consumes any appreciable amount of oil.

The oil was in 30 grade at operating temps. That's a very good thing.

Mileage that low on the engine, it’s probably still break in metals. I mean it’s a v8, lots of moving parts, and a corvette that hopefully gets driven hard. Seems fine doubt there’s much to worry about.

Just a friendly a suggestion to get your heads reworked by a competent shop. I'm in the process of helping my dad drop an LS7 long block into his Z06 right now. Dropped a valve pulling away slowly from a stoplight and cracked the block. Absolutely no warning, motor was quiet and strong up until it wasn't.

The brand new long block had the heads removed and sent to Katech so this hopefully never happens again.

He was in the camp of "it can't be that common, will never happen to me."
