This is my mother's car, she drives it gently. It sees a lot of short trips to and from work, and might not get completely warmed up.
I wonder if the high copper has something to do with the variable valve timing hardware. This motor consumed zero oil in the 6000 mile interval.
Based on the TBN alone it looks like this oil could have gone a LOT longer in this car.

TBN of 8.71 after 6,000 miles?

Does your mom run it all day at 55 on the highway!

The copper is up there. Might be a trait for this type of engine, like the GM LS1.

With only short trips, and only 18k miles, most likely a combo of wear and break-in. Hopefully it will trend down in future UOA's.

Amazing TBN! Looks like it could have gone 12-15k miles!

Hopefully it is still from break-in, but it should have still been quite a bit lower than that IMO.

Did you search for any other H6 uoa's? What's in there now?

This Subaru has been fed a steady diet of Pennzoil Platinum and modest OCIs since my mom bought it with 11k miles. Right now I have a mix of 4 quarts 5W-20 and 3 quarts 10W-30 in there. I plan to sample the current batch at about 6000 miles.
As far as the TBN goes, this test was done by whatever lab Amsoil is currently using. I had another sample from my dad's Tundra with a TBN of 2.9 and they said the TBN was too low, so I guess their scale is different than Blackstone.
Haven't been able to find other flat six Subaru UOAs, but mostly because of the crummy search feature.

I didn't even think the TBN of PP was that high to start with, I thought it was 8.? Is that not the case?
