- This is my fiance's 2006 Kia Sorento
- 3.5L, 24V, 5-Speed auto trans
- Pennzoil Platinum 5W-30, run for 2 months
- Fram oil filter
- O'Reilly's air filter (their house brand)
- My girl is a Zep saleswoman, so she drives a lot. Mostly highway and rural Missouri miles. She is a woman (and very crazy, I might add), so she doesn't just take off nice and smooth. It's pedal to the metal from stop light to stop light.
- Very HEAVY cargo in this batch. She decided to deliver Yellow Books for some extra cash (and dragged me into it) about a month ago. Per her description, "the SUV looked like a low rider....very low on the back" Over 600 books at once....way over carrying capacity....on very hilly central MO!

Excellent report for Pennzoil and this engine.

Comments welcomed.

One thing worthy of mentioning....this oil stayed rock solid within viscosity specs for 40*C and 100*C. It barely thickened 4.2cSt and 0.39cSt respectively. I replaced this batch with old (2005) Quaker State RPM 10W-30, that I'm also running in my CX-7 right now. Next fill will be PP for 7k miles.

I'll be running the 10W-30 flavor in my CX-7 in the coming weeks.

Critic,

Corolla is ex wife's car. We split up over a year ago. She still drives it.

Anyway....just confirmed that I have a HUGE intake leak. The Variable Intake Control in this engine is vacuum-leaking BIG time. I have no idea how long this has gone on. If it has for a while, I guess it's good news because silicone in this report is very good. We'll see what Kia does.
