05 Suburban.....Getting rid of Dexcool ??

I read in another post that you should dexcool out of your cooling system.

I just bought an 05 Suburban with 75,000 miles.....the antifreze looks good but I want to do a flush and replace.

I was thinking about using G-05 or Peak Global Lifetime......looking for some opinions??

Either of those 2 are non Dex "clones" like the Peak Long Life and Prestone all makes are.

I'd use the Global.

I used to own a cavalier that was on Dexcool diet. It was fine when I sold it. The coolant was changed about three times over the course of 10 years. Maintenance is key to avoid the Dexcool sludge. You can change it to G-05, it's pretty good coolant. Just make sure you flush the cooling system well. You may need to flush it two times before you can get all that Dexcool out.
