The engine power output is more than stock closer to stock STI power levels.

It was driven all this winter. A little aggressive driving here & there. Some good WOT runs when warmed up, so not so warmed up 3/4 throttle runs to high rpm. I'd say that at least 60% was easy going highway or city driving though.

Nice report.

Is this a protune or OTS map? Didn't a lot of us say you were crazy for running this oil in a turbo?

There were also a few good Ultra 5W-30 uoa's recently posted at nasioc. Not many people doing uoa's on Energy Conserving oil in our cars so it's nice to see some data. It would be good to see a trend but I see you've already switched to a different oil.

Ya lol...a lot said it would die in a fire with me in it.

Not outta choice really, I would have ran AFE again but there was a massive shortage in my area it seemed. So I just got something else to hold me over. I may go back to it again, at least I can see a difference in another oil if any.

I didn't really track fuel economy all to religiously and I had some very short city runs so I'd imagine if there were any gains they were very small.

OTS map by the way which I know runs on the rich side but lately it has been smelling like an open gas can on startup. I am starting to wonder if I have a leaky injector. I am toying with switching the map to 91 octane from 93 as well.

I'll post in on Nasioc/SF.org as well!

Oil Analysers...Nitration was elevated it said but still within limits.

My guess the heat was starting to tax the oil.

Kudos to you!
I would have been reluctant to have run AFE in our NA 2.5, but your UOA shows that it works jut fine in an XT making greater than stock power, no less.
Nice iron and copper numbers, and TBN held up pretty well also.
Yours is not the first 2.5 UOA which is making me rethink my opinion regarding Subies needing a thicker oil.

Interesting, I had elevated nitration with this oil as well.....

Polaris Labs Website states:

Nitration
Definition:

Nitration indicates excessive "blow-by" from cylinder walls and/or compression rings. It also indicates the presence of nitric acid, which speeds up oxidation. Too much disparity between oxidation and nitration can point to air to fuel ratio problems. As oxidation / nitration increases, so will total acid number and viscosity, while total base number will begin to decrease. Nitration is primarily a problem in natural gas engines.

This could be explained by my very random hard starting(leaky injector I think) and the OTS Cobb map which is known for running richer than needed for safety since it is not tuned to that specific car.

Toromont said it can be from the oil being run cold a lot. Which makes sense in my situation, because my OCI was from November through February.

Kinda the same way here. I think I changed it towards the beginning of fall and ran it all through our winter.

Needless to say at 3F on those many mornings the engine seemed just happy to start.
