Been experience slow fueling for the past 6 months. The last two weeks have been extremely bad. Pump will automatically shut off before reaching 1 gallon. I suspect issues with the EVAP system/charcoal canister. The weather in Ohio is 12° so I’m looking for a quick fix until it gets a little warmer. Would disconnecting the lines to and from the charcoal canister do the trick?

It was the issue for me on my 05 yukon. The charcoal pellets went everywhere even into the fuel lines under the hood and I blew them out with a nozzle but they didn't seem to restrict flow since it drove normally but i wasn't driving in a way that would demand a lot of fuel flow either. I imagine disconnecting a hose that looks like it could vent the tank if it were to be disconnected should work to prevent it from pressurizing and stopping the pump. Don't know which one since i didn't pay that much attention and it was several years ago. It's cold so fuel isn't volatile and flashing off.

My 05 5.3 did the same, fuel nozzle would cut off every few seconds when gassing up. Blowing out the lines and a new charcoal cannister fixed mine. Now when the nozzle clicks off I don’t try to add any more fuel as I was told back in the day that the extra fuel added soaks the charcoal causing this condition.

My 2006 Trailblazer had a similar issue. A temporary fix was to remove the evap vent by the fuel tank and knock out the years worth of dirt from it.

Gas tank vent? Had a few vehicles like this & it was annoying. When bro got late Dad's 91' F-150 he had to replace the rubber fill pipe to get it to work right.

The charcoal canister has two lines running to it. I removed the large line which appears to run to the gas tank. The small line looks to run up to the front of the vehicle (probably for fumes to be sucked back into the engine) There is a small improvement in fueling but nowhere near 100%
Once the weather gets a bit warmer I’ll crawl under again and disconnect the lines going to the purge valve.
