I would appreciate comments on this UOA (I changed this oil).

Toyota OEM filter from the dealership was used on this UOA run.

Where is the iron?

That is an excellent UOA for that vehicle.

The oil sheared down a bit.

Was it newer SN 5W30?

I don't know for sure, but I assume it was the SN version. I bought the oil at Walmart this winter, but can't remember for sure.

That's exactly what I was going to say.

The one thing I'll add is that the DENSO-made Toyota OEM filter seems to have done a fine job. I myself am a fan of DENSO's aftermarket filters and have been using them exclusively on my Nissan to date.

I would stick with the 5k OCI's. Good choice of oil & filter in this situation.

Keep a clean PCV in there as that'll help also.

Yeah, it looks like not a lot was improved in the later 1MZ-FE. It has been a while since I have done an oil analysis in my Sienna, and I've been gradually pushing the OCI to 7000 miles. I might back that off a bit.

Shearing is a big thing in my engine too. Everyone attributes it to the gear-driven camshafts which might be accurate.

Interesting how even a high quality synthetic like M1 is more or less wiped out in these engines at 7000 miles.

vis is a bit now, but otherwise great report.

I don't see the problem in taking it out to 6000 on this regimen, personally. And then if those samples look good, 7000 as Blackstone says.

Oh and this is for sure the SN Mobil1, with the higher Mg and lower Ca.

You think that's low? Here's my 98 Camry V6. (Don't mind the Copper and Lead.)

OP, great UOA. IMO, speaking from past experience with my Camry, 7,500 mile OCIs are do-able with a good synthetic oil like you're using.

zstand - good to see the UOA!! The 2003 is not supposed to be a sludger motor, but I would change out the PCV valve every 30k or so. The 2003 engine has the threaded PCV. The older engines have the push in style. I have been looking for a M1 deal, I will run that oil in the van eventually, but have 15 more quarts of PP in my stash, so it will be around 3 years from now when M1 gets a OCI.

I dont think I would change from the PP imho anyway.

It is not that bad. The PCV is on the passenger side of the engine. There is not a whole lot of room back there, it is back under the base of the windshield. A deep socket will get it done, it just takes a while due to the lack of space. Make sure you get a new PCV first - I had to order one from the parts store, they did not have one in stock.

How long have you owned your Sienna? I have had mine 3 years, changed it around 10k miles ago. I am going to change it every 30k or so. It was less than $10 if I remember right.

Thanks for the info! I have had it for around 110k (5 years or so) and have had it changed maybe twice. I am going to change it ASAP. Am hoping to get a lot more miles out of this Sienna, so don't want to take any chances!
