Mazda specified Type F ATF for my Mazda. When transmission bearings had to be replaced many miles later, the shop substituted allegedly superior synthetic MTF of unknown brand. That caused it be be difficult to shift into 2nd gear when cold, and to burp oil out the breather vent pipe persistently.
