I have a problem in the morning when I start the engine it cranks fine but barely stays running for just a few seconds and then idles/runs fine the rest of the time. Today I could not keep the vehicle running unless I applied the gas pedal. After running this way for a few minutes the car was fine for the rest of the short drive Does this sound like a TPS, Idle air control Valve or mass airflow sensor? Plugs, pcv, fuel filter, transmission fluid, Rear end fluid are new and battery/charging check out fine. There is not a cneck engine light. What are your thoughts?

IAC would be the first thing to check. You can clean it to get some more time out of it, but eventually you will want to replace it.

If you pick up a Motorcraft one, they don't come with the gasket. Last time I changed one I took the whole upper plenum off and took it apart and cleaned everything out. Took a few cans of brake cleaner to get all the passages clean. Replaced the gaskets for the EGR, IAC, throttle body, and plenum to intake while I was in there.

Motorcraft CX-1917 with the gasket is all you need.

Ya i like that. Also Ford still uses the F1VY-8255-A t-stat o-ring and the F1VY-8507-A water pump o-ring on the modulars, right back to the 91 Town Car.
