    2004.5 Dodge 5.9 Cummins - Schaeffer 15w40 UOA @ 30,600km

I'm up in Canada, so sending into the States takes to much time and shipping is prohibitive. The schaeffer tech also stated they don't do oil analysis in house any longer. Maybe they use an external lab for samples sent to them? If your in Canada, I recommend AGAT, comprehensive tests, prices...

    2004.5 Dodge 5.9 Cummins - Schaeffer 15w40 UOA @ 30,600km

First off, I'm glad this mistake happened. Nothing was harmed and I learned a lot as a result of digging into it. Here is the first lab result with the mistake I've been running Schaeffer 15w40 for the summer and this is my third extend drain on it. The last 5 analysis's were on this oil...

    NV5600 - Amsoil Syncromesh UOA 46,500km

Looks like my cooler is working, since the TAN is staying put. Oil is still loosing viscosity though. I've since changed the oil and will be interested to see what happens over the winter.

Powerstop Z36 drilled and slotted 15,000 mile / 1 year update (Sonata)

I also have these Z36 pads and rotors on my '04 Ram 2500, 200,000 highway km with 50% towing and lots of life left. Haven't measured them, but visually, they look like 60-70%. Never ran out of brake, even down a grade with a load. Main thing I like is how they self clean. Road salt spray in...

Mobil 1 Full Syn. Pwr Strg fluid?

Hadn't thought of that. Makes sense.

Mobil 1 Full Syn. Pwr Strg fluid?

Makes sense, and I do not see why not. My Sienna how ever calls for different atf for the ps then for the transmission. Kinda odd.

Mobil 1 Full Syn. Pwr Strg fluid?

Is the dexron iii equivalent to atf+4? I didn't see any mention of atf+4 on mobil's site, and my knowledge isn't deep enough to know how much it really matters.

Mobil 1 Full Syn. Pwr Strg fluid?

The spec is ATF+4 I believe. Same as the transfer case. I've never had issues using fluids meeting that spec.

Fass fuel filters, I was a sucker. (Cut open)

These are the new style. PF-3001XL and XWS-3002XL. Both are well made. What had me was the ss filter mesh for the PF-3001. Not that I think this set up won't filter as advertised, but rather that I see no need to be changing it at the same interval as the xws-3002. I keep a spare in the truck in...

Magnefine filter cut open - 30,000km - 2007 toyota sienna transmisson.

Yea. I had to replace it with a plastic one though. Metal ones are hard to come by in canada, have a bunch on order from the states right now. Heard lots of horror stories of the plastic ones exploding. I don't recall anything noteworthy for the pan magnet. Pan filter is a joke on the other...

Magnefine filter cut open - 30,000km - 2007 toyota sienna transmisson.

Was pretty suprised by the amount of metal, even a couple decent chunks about 1.5mm large. This was installed shortly after we bought the van when I flushed the fluid with amsoil ss. Full flush(diy fluid exchange) including pan drop and rock catcher. Van had 285k km at time of flush and filter...

Hadn't thought of that. Would make a lot of sense. Thanks!

    NV5600 - Amsoil Syncromesh UOA 46,500km

Ok, I figured the same as well. Shearing. What confused me we was the slowing rate of shearing. Will it eventually just level off? I will test and see. Tan looks good, so I'm not too concerned to run it for a while longer.

    NV5600 - Amsoil Syncromesh UOA 46,500km

Would this explain the slowing rate in viscosity loss? Magnefine's are smaller, but I don't think there is enough particulates generated by a MT to plug them. And the Fe rate has slowed considerably from the first uoa. We'll see when I pull this one off and cut it open. The fast coolers also...

    NV5600 - Amsoil Syncromesh UOA 46,500km

Fast Pto coolers w/ passive filter installed at last OC. Installed pumped cooling loop and filter(magnefine) at 2nd last UOA (10,500km). Loop made about a 10-15 celsuis degree difference. Fast coolers didn't do much. Not sure what is causing the spike in silicon, could this be rtv getting...

    2004.5 Dodge 5.9 - Schaeffer Supreme 9000 5w40 UOA's

Thanks! That is interesting. I hadn't looked at that much. I posted this mostly to just get some data decent data with more then one uoa in a row out there on the 5w40. The history on the agat report is rolling and old reports fall off the botttom. If you look at my last oua post you will see...

    Schaeffer Supreme 9000 5w40 HDEO VOA (2016)

Not sure how much the formulation has changed since, but from my UOA this seems to be pretty close.

    2004.5 Dodge 5.9 - Schaeffer Supreme 9000 5w40 UOA's

Post this mainly for data's sake. All UOA in this report are schaeffer 5w40. Engine was rebuilt at 456k km

    NV5600 - Amsoil Syncromesh UOA 87,000km

Seeing as I have 670km on my original one now, I'm doing everything possible to keep it running smooth. I've looked around and replacements are pricey. I wouldn't say that 48RE wouldn't of been much more reliable!
