    M1 EP 5w30 20,500 OCI, Toyota 2TR-FE Fram Ultra W/TBN

It gets -15 to -25 without the wind chill every winter. Coldest I’ve ever seen it was -41 but that was a couple years ago. Typical lows are below zero with single digit highs this time of year. 10-30 would likely be fine…5-30 is about perfect

    M1 EP 5w30 20,500 OCI, Toyota 2TR-FE Fram Ultra W/TBN

No 20k is far enough for me. It’s an easy number to remember and i have a good saftey margin left in case I can’t change the oil due to injury or I’m in vacation etc. From what I can tell this oil could likely go 25000 miles though

    M1 EP 5w30 20,500 OCI, Toyota 2TR-FE Fram Ultra W/TBN

They could have just as easily mentioned the effects of squirrels getting into the oil pan. The vehicle doesn't have a coolant leak...isnt known for coolant leaks, and nothing was mentioned regarding coolant leaks in my submission. Pointless on their part. Bottom line...oil held up...engine...

    M1 EP 5w30 20,500 OCI, Toyota 2TR-FE Fram Ultra W/TBN

This is the most recent UOA of my 2019 Tacoma with a 2.7. Vehicle is lifted and running 33 inch load range E tires. This run saw temps in the 80s down to roughly -20F. Plenty of idling to warm up in the mornings and a fair amount of spirited off road use. Truck runs high RPMS...32-3500 RPM on...

UOA posted. Data beats emotion every time

    Mobil 1 EP 5w30 20k...my new normal

Is that based on any science or physical evidence or is it purely an emotional decision? My plan is to base my OCI on the condition of the oil as determined by a lab. We shall see what they say...perhaps 20k is too long for that lube. If that's the case ill go back to M1 0w40 at a 10k OCI...

    Mobil 1 EP 5w30 20k...my new normal

Its got just over 100k on it now. 35-40k a year is about right. It had been getting m1 0w40fs at a 10k OCI since the day i purchased it new but my walmart stoped stocking it...much to my chagrin

    Mobil 1 EP 5w30 20k...my new normal

The 4 runner doesn't get driven as much...it only has about 4k on the oil so it has a long long way to go thankfully.

    Mobil 1 EP 5w30 20k...my new normal

I put a qt in at around 15,000 miles. It still shows full. As to checking the TBN...ive run 0w40 at 10k since new and the TBN was always in the 3-4 range with no makeup oil. Im willing to bet im not betting 2 engines on it LOL

    Mobil 1 EP 5w30 20k...my new normal

Ok guys…hit 20,750 miles on the 2.7 w/ 5w30 I’m going to change it out tonight and refill w/ the same. Truck only used a qt of oil in the run. Not bad!

    Mobil 1 EP 5w30 20k...my new normal

Perhaps...but mobil doesn't guarantee it as such. I ran 0w40 in both vehicles since new at 10k OCIs and the UOAs (posted here) were always fine. Im hoping the same holds true for the EP. I hate changing oil...especially on the 4runner. My thought is this...Mobil 1 has more brand equity than...

    Mobil 1 EP 5w30 20k...my new normal

Im betting im fine on both vehicles. They are both EFI old school engines and get driven a lot

    Mobil 1 EP 5w30 20k...my new normal

As mentioned before I had to change my screen name from Doublehaul for tech reasons beyond my scope but as many of you know ive run mobil 1 0w40 in my Tacoma and 4runner since new at a 10k oci and using Fram Ultras for 2 10k intervals. Long story short went to wally world to grab a jug and they...

    19 Toyota Tacoma 2.7 (2TR-FE) 10,000m M1-0w40

Different motor technically yes but the current 2trfe is just a refresh with some new tech to improve fuel economy and power. They are the exact same for intents and purposes. I had the 2.7 in my 95 Tacoma which also was lifted and had heavy LT tires through with a manual trans and it had over...

    19 Toyota Tacoma 2.7 (2TR-FE) 10,000m M1-0w40

I love it. Cast iron war horse From a bygone era. I have a work tacoma with the V6 and it’s also a dog. Difference is that this is the most durable gas engine on the road and the v6 is very high tech and quirky. I don’t trust it myself 2.7 is the only way to go. It spins at 3k plus on the...
