Wife's 2017 Acura MDX 163000km. First time changing the 9 speed ZF transmission oil, DIY. Bought it when it was, 83000km used and I presume one transmission service was done before our purchase. I didn't bother doing the way the manual calls for, such as taking transmission temperature after...

    Dental Work Cost

Those prices look reasonable. Even with insurance, going to the dentist here is very expensive. I feel bad for folks who do not have any coverage. We are currently sending our two kids to school to cover for medical needs in a few years: Child #1: in 3rd year med school Child #2: in 2nd year...

Just came back from South Korea. Cool looking bookstore at Starfield Coex Mall in Seoul. Nightly water fountain show at Mapo Bridge in Seoul. Pokeman-themed airplane, anyone? View from our $50/night hotel in Jeju Island with free valet parking. Having cheerleaders at a KBO baseball game...

    Recent visitors ... wildlife photos

All spotted while on the walk within our neighbourhood that includes protected wood and walking trails. So blessed to have access to different wildlife. The second picture of the coyote was first for me, and I thought it was an unleashed dog. I think the last picture of the bird is woodpecker.

    Post your dash cam setup

Mine looks exactly like yours. I hate cords dangling from the cam to the power source. On a side note, in Korea, I see Hyundai and Kia's come with factory built in dash cams.

Do you have a favorite fuel?

Shell, due to their Air Miles promos since last year and often I will get back $20-40 in miles per month, first then Costco as second. Not having to wait at Shell vs. Costco is worth the slight bump in price and I can clean the windshield at Shell is a bonus.

    Anyone still into MLB?

Glad to see MLB in action again, now that my Calgary Flames are out of playoffs. Being in Canada, Toronto Blue Jays are my team to root for and then several west coast teams like Mariners, Dodgers, and Giants. Have been to watch games in Seattle, LA, Anaheim, SF, Oakland, and SD so far during...

How should I grease ATE brakes on a Mazda

I used Sil-glyde on my daughter's 2012 Mazda 3 and after a couple of years, no issue with brakes. I just bought a tub of Mission silicone grease so I will use that on all my future brake work on pins.

    An EV I would buy

Something like this would be what I'd buy, importing from Japan. Honda Fit with 1.3L engine and only 8000km. Great mileage, lots of room, low miles, and rust-free. https://b-pro.ca/car/2006-honda-fit-1-3w-8022-km/

When do you install your winter tires?

Around mid-October, close to Canadian Thanksgiving. Doing changes to 4 vehicles so I need to stagger timing for my aging body. Usually able to swap them out in an hour or less per car, unless I spot anything unusual during brake/suspension inspection while the wheels are off. Mid to late April...
