Toyota WS ATF or Aisin WS ATF

I have access to the AFW+ here in Asia as well, which is fully synthetic and half the price of Toyota WS. Think I’ll go for the synthetic for my drain and fills…

    Aisin AFW+ or ATF0ws???

I appreciate all of the discussions that you’ve all had on the AFW+. I’ve got a Toyota Fortuner here in Pakistan, and also have access to the AFW+. Believe it or not, it’s HALF the price of the Toyota WS from the stealership… I don’t understand how, but seems like the full synthetic is a no...

    Delo 400 15w-40 -cj-4

I’m sure just pouring without the shake is fine too. As soon as you start the engine, it’ll be completely mixed.

Using a 10/40 high mileage oil in a Toyota vvti

Interesting…well I’m living in Karachi, Pakistan, so the Corolla is specifically our grocery getter and doesn’t leave the traffic-laden city streets. Perhaps I’ll give it a try.

Using a 10/40 high mileage oil in a Toyota vvti

Interesting that people are telling you anything more than a 30wt oil will stop VVT from working properly. Where I’m currently living, we have a Corolla with a VVT engine, and it comes with TMO 20w50 from the factory. Yes it’s quite hot here (up to 40c summer and down to 14c winter), but at...

can i change oil without changing my fram ultra?

I think you misunderstood my post. What I suggested was that I’d rather have a fresh filter than running it for multiple OCIs and allowing it to clog up. I never said MY filter would clog at 5000km...I don’t think any would. Plus, the oil filter for my truck is about $10. Saving $10 every few...

can i change oil without changing my fram ultra?

This is no different than the long OCI recommendations on many new vehicles. Yes, the manufacturer’s R&D teams are experts...but the ones making decisions are people with marketing, finance, and law degrees. Lower cost of ownership is a great metric to sell a product...but I’ll stick to 5000km...

Will a CK-4 oil clean a sludged gas engine better than PCMO?

Just for my own understanding, why is this the case?

what is the best v6 ever made?

The two V6 gasoline engines that are top of mind in terms or reliability and “bulletproof-ness” based on years of reading articles and frequenting message boards seem to be the GM 3.8 and the Toyota 4.0.

10w30 HDEO or 15w40, others. What's in your engine?

Shell Rimula R4x 15W40 in my 1GD Toyota, and Rimula R4x 20W50 in my Kubota v2203 genset..both flavors are CI4 HDEOs. Genset runs maybe 10 hours a month aside from maintenance runs, and it doesn’t go below 14 degrees C here in Karachi, so I prefer not to go lower viscosity. Is Rimula equivalent...

Engine braking bad for automatic transmission?

That’s running an Aisin tranny, right? I would guess that I have the same behavior with my Toyota Fortuner, which is running an Aisin AC60F. Just got back from the mountains, so I had to use engine braking for a 30km descent from 4300 meters down to 1400 meters.

Any benefits with low saps oil a car without dpf?

This is a great question. Here in Pakistan, we get the Toyota Fortuner with the 1GD turbo diesel. It has no DPF, unlike in other countries, but does have EGR. I’ve been using a CI or CJ hdeo, but was wondering if a lower SAPS oil would keep the EGR cleaner for longer.

    Conventional 15-40 base oil question

Interesting...yet it’s CI4. Here in Pakistan were able to get it in 15w40 and 20w50 flavors. Planning on filling my Kubota v2203 genset with the thicker grade since we spend much of the year well over 75F.

OCI for Bobcat MT85, Kubota diesel

The manual for my Kubota V2203 (probably older than your engine) specifies oil change every 100 hours and oil filter every 200 hours. Filters are cheap, so I just do both together.
