2007 Honda Civic - new acquisition

I would first like to say congratulations on getting a great little car. Knowing that it is a little R18A1 the torque availability is to be expected. You can change how it feels when shifting with a few things: 1: Transmission Fluid; This can make a large impact on how it goes into gear...

    MB 5W40 229.5 Supplier?

OP, I would suggest you do a little bit of research into the smaller part and repair shops around your area. You will eventually find a place that will sell that exact product, and not charge an arm and a leg for it. I know of it.

2005 Acura TSX; k24a2, 6mt, 125033 Miles at time of change. Out: M1 Euro Formula 0w40 with 1/2 bottle of Liquid moly Ceratec. In: M1 Euro Formula 0w40 w/o Ceratec. Both oil changes used A bosch 3323 filter that I have stashed up, and could be considered short interval, as there was only 3.5k...

    Worst oil filter locations.

Can attest to that; For the tsx, it not only drips down the engine block, but it will also get on the cv and intermediate axles. Don't even get me started if the filter is really stuck on there; poking it with a flat tip screwdriver will be the only way.

Mazda CX 5 Is This Overfilled Enough To Be Concerned About ?

A rule of thumb that I live by is 10%. Say if your car takes 5 quarts, you should not have any issues filling it over or under .5 of a quart. It should be stated that you really should never underfill your engine, but don't overfill it too much. Hope that this helps.

Thanks for the cut and post OP. This just reaffirms the quality for price that this filter offers.

    2012 F-250 6.2L gas engine oil

Good choice; For any port injected, naturally aspirated application M1 euro 0w40 is just a great all season replacement for 5w30. I swear by it with my CL9 Acura Tsx with the 2.4l.

    Sister gets a new car

Congrats to your Sister OP. I would suggest while you are in there doing the fluids, do check the power steering fluid. That is normally neglected. Also, consider both spark plug and PCV valve replacements; those two should take all of 30 minutes, and guarantees that that k24 will be happy for...

    2006 Honda oddesey V6

Op, Honda's have manual lash adjustments on their valvetrain, so I think your car needs to have its valves adjusted. Being that this is a J series V6, it will be a little bit of a harder task since the intake manifold will need to be removed before access to both front and rear engine covers are...

    2000 Honda CR-V, 216k, valvetrain pic

Not the best but nowhere near the worse in the grand scheme of things. I know that this may have had one or two extended drain intervals that were uncalled for. I would suggest looking at a potential timing belt and water pump replacement based on the condition of the belt from the pictures...

    Pennzoil Platinum 0W20, 5,825 miles, 2017 Civic 1.5T

I am surprised that there is really no hint of fuel dilution, which is a common occurrence with these engines specifically. This OCI length looks good, i would stick with it. Thanks for the report.

    Kendall GT-1 Max 0W20, 5,000 miles, 2019 RX 350

Thanks for the report. I feel like 10k miles oci is a little bit too far, what about 7.5k miles? What filter did you use with this oci?

Does 5W-30 REALLY protect better than 5W-20?

I understand your argument but I think most in this forum do. People whom properly maintain their vehicles at least do it once a blue moon.

Inside the engine of my 98 Camry (276K; 4 cyl)

It looks like your aunt was a proper owner; having such a clean engine shows that it was well taken care of over its life(taking into consideration engine rebuild), even with all of the mileage on the frame. Per specification, I feel like anything SAE 30 Weight would work for it, knowing the...

Use Vehicle Shopping: <$7K sedan/wagon that is reliable + easy to fix

Honda's are generally very much reliable, but from a used car perspective, do avoid anything that is v6 that is mated to a 5 speed auto. Older Honda transmissions are built like AMT's (automated manual transmissions), and because of this, the clutch plates are smaller in comparison to the...
