    Quotes to Live by!

Never eat at a place called Moms. Never play cards with a man named Doc. Never sleep with a woman who has more problems than you do. Not sure of origin, but first time I saw them was in a book by Nelson Algren.

    Remington Nylon 66

My wife got me one for Christmas many years ago. It has a black stock, black barrel and black receiver. Anybody know what version that is? If only everything I had lasted and worked as well as it has.

    Any lever action gurus around?

saturn fan, around here a few years back, the .35 was pronounced to be a "brush buster". It is a very capable caliber but, at least in my limited opinion, no much more so than the 30/30 or .32 winchester. When using it in the woods at the time, 50 yds. was a long shot. 200 yds. for me would be...

    .223 for deer unethical?

Personally a .223 wouldn't be on my list of calibers for deer. However for the sake of discussion, since not all .223 barrels are standard, I'd want to check the twist rate of the barrel to be sure it'd stabilize the heavier bullets.

    Any lever action gurus around?

Grew up with a Marlin lever in .35 Remington, was a very sturdy, capable firearm. However if you reload lead the Marlin microgroove barrels, at least at that time, were said not to be optimum for lead slugs.

    Info on PTO generators appreciated

Actually I was just looking for some general advice. What to look out for, stay away from, helps if you do this, things that I usually consider after I buy something. For what I need I could get by with an out of the box generator. Shove it in the corner ready to go. However I look at my...

    Nuisance Animal in Neighborhood

I would ask those who would take an animal and dump it, particularly in a rural area, to seriously rethink it. Living in a rural area this has many times then become my problem. Depending on the situation, hopefully being able to ID the..uh..person dumping, it WILL be handled appropriately.

    tire sealant- any opinions?

Also replied up in the tire forum : Thanks Blake, there seems to be a good report from those who've used it. I've only dealt with flats off road, and have what I need to fix one while on the road, but I'd rather deal with it at a time and place of my choice. If this can save me from working...
