Do you short-shift your manual transmission vehicle?

In my Miata when merging onto the highway, I would often run second gear to redline, clutch in, and engage 5th gear once the revs fell to about 3.5k.

2005 5.9 Cummins Oil- Low Priced

Delvac 1300 is good stuff. I have a gallon in my basement for use in my lawnmower and pressure washer. I've run it in my truck and wife's car during warmer months too. Ran back when I had my 2006 5.9 diesel as well.

2005 5.9 Cummins Oil- Low Priced

I'd run a cheap 15w40 changed once a year. You can get 2 gallons of Supertech for $24, 1 gallon for $13. I bet you could do the whole oil change for $50.

    Mixing 5 quarts Mobil 1 EP + 0.7 quart M1 AFE 0W-20

I would like to second using a MB229.5 and/or A40 oil. Try not to concentrate so much on the viscosity, and more on the approvals an oil carries. It is far more telling of how the oil will behave than some numbers that very loosely indicate a viscosity range.

Your dad had good taste. Condolences on your loss, but this will be a great way to remember him.

    Photo Thread for Unusual Vehicles

Step side Ram or not, I immediately judge someone who can't be bothered to park with decency.

85 C30 restomod, love those Squarebodys.

The wheels can easily be swapped over to something more in line with ones tastes. They're not my preference either, but to each their own. The rest of the truck is drool-worthy. I wonder what's lurking beneath the bonnet... I'd love to see a GMC big block V6 in there.

    Mobil 1 0w-40fs flat tappet mercruiser 350

I used to run 15w40 in my VP 305ci. If I still owned it, it would have either Delo or 1300 in the sump. Not that I have anything against running 0w40 in there, I just have more HDEO stockpiled.

My thoughts on the Lady Friend's 2015 Fusion with 175k, 2.5L N/A engine.

Yes, the 2.0 n/a engine falls within the Mazda MZR L engine family. (1.8L-2.5L, including 2.0 Ecoboost)

My thoughts on the Lady Friend's 2015 Fusion with 175k, 2.5L N/A engine.

I love the Duratec 2.5, and really any of the MZR based engines. I'd encourage your lady friend to hang on to the car after she gets a new one. Dealer isn't going to give her squat on trade in for it, and it would make a great backup/road trip vehicle if you have the space for it.

    Floor Jansen

I was lucky enough to catch Epica playing a show local to me a number of years back. I think at that time they were touring for their Quantum Enigma album. Simone and the rest did not disappoint. So much so that I bought a T-Shirt (something I rarely do) and wear it often.

I have a stalk on the left that holds the "BC" button. Never thought to try moving it up and down.

Are the days of the 10k OCI over with?

I'm going to interject in this heated debate to state I just ran 10k+ on my BMW 328i, N52 engine. This certainly isn't my norm, all other changes under my ownership have been between 5-6k. Still, I'm not losing any sleep over it. 30+ mile commute, and it sees 7000 rpm at least once a day. Oil...

Did I spot a prototype BMW?

To me, that is a face not even a mother could love. Absolutely repulsive. That said, I like hearing from people who love it. I don't see it same as you do, and that's what makes this world go round.

I am done with my BMW updates ...

Well, this is pretty much everything I wanted to do to my E90, but never had the time for. (1 and 3 year old, worked lots of OT through COVID). I appreciate the post so I can drool and dream. Also looking forward to some on track impressions, post upgrades.

    Unique F-14 Test

It's almost as if you can visibly see the amount of rudder needed to compensate in order to keep her flying straight. Great photo. Out of curiosity, are there any clear visible signs that differentiate the F-14A and B variants?

Is the belly pan essential ?

The belly pan is essential. At speed, air from underneath the vehicle collects under hood and can create a high pressure zone behind the condenser/radiator stack, thereby lowering airflow through. I've heard of NA/NB Miata's struggling to maintain operating temperatures due to not having a...

    Kia EV6 GT @ AutoX

Great post. This some tasty content. I love hearing at-the-limit impressions from actual owners. Keep posting as (if) you do more events. I'd be curious to see if any impressions change, and hear about any new ones that develop.
