Running engine oil for longer than 12 months?

I would love to start oil sampling stuff but for me its just a matter of not having time or the organization to pull samples and get them sent out. Between my equipment, my grandparents farm equipment, and our fleet equipment i'm doing maintenance on 9 trucks/suv's, 6 tractors, 2 dump trucks, 4...

Running engine oil for longer than 12 months?

Going through our yearly maintenance on all our trucks and equipment, and with oil getting expensive/hard to find its got me thinking. I have a combine, dump truck, skid steer, and some other items that add up to about 20 gallons of oil. Most of these engines are only seeing 50-60 hours a year...

Use a 12v fuel pump for gear/hydraulic oil?

Need to service our L8000 dump truck and some other equipment that don't have enough room to pour fluid in, and some of the transmissions/gearboxes take 4-5 gallons a piece. Have about 15 gallons total to do. Would a generic 12v fuel pump work to pull oil out of a bucket and pump it up into a...

    2022 F450 10r140 service

Are you doing the drain and fill yourself? Just dropping the pan and filling through that hole? I wouldn't mind replacing the pans with something metal and drain plug, but not sure how about the added fluid capacity. Dealing with the built E4OD in my 7.3 i've had multiple people tell me that...

    2022 F450 10r140 service

In the fall we special ordered a pair of '22 F450's with the 7.3 gas engine. We farm, have an excavation business, and plow snow commercially/nationwide so these trucks are getting worked pretty hard. We've only had them since November and both trucks are closing in on 9k miles and 400 hours a...

    Any advantage in T5 over T4 15w40?

I've never seen it in 5 gallon buckets either, only gallon and maybe 2.5gals. The bucket and label look like that though, i'll get a picture of it tomorrow. And this RK only had a couple buckets of Delvac and the Harvest King 15w40, but there was half a pallet of T5 Rotella. But it was in the T4...

    Any advantage in T5 over T4 15w40?

Its new, date code on the label is August 3rd 2021 and says T5 Syn Blend 15w40. But i've never seen a label like it before on Rotella oil, very plain and basic looking so i'm not sure whats up. And yes being T5 its a synthetic blend so should be a bit more expensive, last i saw T5 in a store...

    Any advantage in T5 over T4 15w40?

Was at Rural King yesterday and grabbed a 5 gal bucket of Rotella 15w-40, was thrown off a little because it was a yellow bucket instead of white and a different label than what T4 normally is. As i was checking out i realized it was T5 and not T4, but rang up as T4 at $59. We run 15w40 in our...

Anywhere to buy "bulk" distilled water?

Need to do a thorough flush and refill on a tractor that holds 10 gallons of coolant. Instead of trying to buy 20+ gallon jugs of distilled water i'm curious if anybody has found a place to buy 5 or 10 gallon jugs. Or even 2.5 gallon jugs would be a lot easier to deal with.

Very small construction fleet. What oil would YOU use?

We have a similar fleet of equipment. Couple skid steers, couple excavators, a handful of trucks, and some tractors. I live outside of Dayton, Ohio so in the summer we get warm and in the winter we can get cold. For brand of oil i just buy whatever is the best deal, try to get 15-40 for...

Ok to use TO-4 in final drives/gearboxes/chaincases?

Sitting here digging through equipment manuals on the interwebs so i can update my service files. We have JCB, Cat, and Kubota loaders/mini-ex's. Occasionally I work on a Bobcat or Deere. The Kubota final drives call for 80w-90, pretty sure our JCB says SAE 30 engine oil although i've been using...
