The cams ride directly on the aluminum head with no bearings, and the rod and crank bearings are also all aluminum like what Ford uses in its engines these days.

umm where did you here that? they are the same basic setup unchanged since 93. they only changed the heads to 3 valve heads. same thing for the 5.4 and 6.8.
has anyone noticed how many newer saturns are already in the boneyards? there is at least 120+ 95 to 01 here in 2 yards most in there for damage other than cosmetic. most have 75k to 130 k still seems like a bad trend.

i noticed the same when i used the chevron full syn. i am not sure what it was however the oil was 1 year old and the new bottle 1 month old did not have any in the bottom maybe the stuff settled?

also the factory fill in the 6l psd is 10w30. thats part of the reason they do not want it being used to tow with until the oil is changed to 15w40. as long as it meets ford specs for the warranty and the api specs you will be fine.Ford WSS-M2C171D

ford has approved the 460 to run the 930a spec oil. not sure if the newer ones had the roller cams and lifters though. i have had some very nice numbers running chevron 5w30 supreme in my 390 which has large clearances.
