    Need help with filter analysis

This unit is a canister setup with a cartridge filter element and there is no water drain on it. I have drained the Jeep's fuel water seperator and there was not water in it. I fuel the Jetta from the same place. Also the fuel sample from the Jetta showed no visible water. I'll see what the...

    Need help with filter analysis

My Jeep CRD gets half the fuel economy of my Jetta so it goes through twice as much fuel and would have seen a problem IF it was fuel related. They are saying the filter is "Bad" because of the fuel. Well, if the filter was bad, the engine would miss under load or at higher RPMs. That's why I...

Those Who Change Their Own Oil - check in

I generally change my own oil. There have been a few occasions when I let some one else do it - like when I was living in an apartment while our house was being built. For the most part, I do my own oil changes. I sleep better because of it!

2005 Jeep Liberty CRD, Factory Fill Mobil 1 0W-40, 3200 mi

Since it is a diesel oil, I would prefer it to the 0W-40 Mobil 1. I did use 0W-40 Mobil 1 on the last oil change simply because all the local Wall-of-China-Marts were out of the 5 quart jugs of Truck & SUV.

OK great wise purveyors of the green elixir, I have a question. We just bought a Jeep Liberty CRD but there was no owners manuals. After a little bit of searching I found out that Jeep is recommending Mobil 1 0W40 or 5W40. I think the engine is made in Europe by Motiv? What I was wondering was...

    fram filters

My only problem with Fram is the noise on startup due to their poor ADBV. My latest example was on my fathers 1998 Suburu. He called and asked what type of oil to use because of the noise. I asked him if he had an orange Fram filter on it. He did, so I had him replace it with a Napa Gold filter...
