    2013 Subaru 2.5L oil burn

My 2012 Forester burned oil like crazy. 2+ qts per OCI if I remember right. Still, she got to 250k (ish) miles. Mike B

Those with 150,000 miles or more, check in

228,600 on 2016 base Impreza (manual) - most of those miles are on Supertech 5W-20 HM, used 3 12qt boxes of Mobil 1 5w-20 HM when I got them for $12.99 each. Supertech 75w-90 in rear diff and trans/front diff, too. Mike B

    My worst oil change ever

Mine was surely forgetting to check for the rubber seal (still attached to engine). Screwed new filter on, filled oil and made a huge mess in the driveway once I started the car. Mike B

    COTA

    I’m tired of manual transmission

I prefer a manual. My Mustang (in avatar pic) and my DD 16 Impreza are both manual. My commute is 65 miles, all interstate. Get on 5 mi from home, drive 58 miles, get off exit at work. On the days where construction or other nonsense happens, I kind of wish I had an automatic, but I prefer the...

Floor jack pinch weld adapters. Rubber? Metal? DIY?

I used hockey pucks (two glued together) and cut a slot with a chop saw. I also bought pre-made ones and cut them down with the same saw to fit inside the plastic rocker panel molding. Mike B

Looks like a royal PIA. Bring it to a body shop and pay the man. :) Mike B

    The demise of AM radio

I listen to AM most days on the (70 mi) trip to work. Coming from NE PA to NY Husdon Valley, it's helpful. When the negativity gets to me (politics) I switch to iPod Jazz or CD's. Old school, I guess. Mike B

    The $100 Oil Change

If you own a Subaru that does a lot of highway miles, be prepared to change bearings. I consider them consumables @40K mi a year just to my job. Mike B

Post your Gas Mileage : Calculated

Where to buy tires, dealer or costco etc

I have a local shop where I get all my tires. The owner is a great guy, and does free rotations for life. I have bought about 10 sets of tires from him. I'd rather deal with a good local shop, personally. Mike B

    Fixing old bodywork

It sounds to me like you know exactly what you want, but don't know how to do it. Bring it to a professional. That's what I'd do in this case. Mike B
