Fusion PHEV - 2 Yr OCI...Hybrid 1 Yr OCI - Why is that?

I wouldn’t have a problem with it. Oil life is more related to how much fuel is used(this is primary)engine power and sump capacity than time. But it is still important to do all the other maintenance

    Oil is Oil

People form biases for multiple reasons. I am not a psychologist. I do know that oil service interval should match the service and conditions. Most people don’t know or consider this. For exampleI I drive 92 miles a day round trip to work. I will accumulate 10k miles in less than 6 months...

    International Traton S13 driveline

Moderators please move if not the right location, I remember Or misremember there used to be a “fleet” category. This is an informative video on the new International/Traton group S13 powertrain. Simplified modular engine and transmission and moved as far from the cooled EGR as they could...

What 0w16 are you using in your newer toyota?

I have 7500 miles and a little over 4 months on a Toyota cross hybrid. I still have factory fill! Not worried about it, I’ve been here before, I will take the first two free oil changes at 10k intervals and then I will start experimenting. I will probably continue using 0w16 and or 0w20 when...

New 2023 Corolla and 0W-8 oil

Exactly and what I do and have done since Toyota care started in 2010 or before but that’s when I bought vehicles covered by it first. Never ever had an issue with the included services. When I was working the oilfield with my Tacoma I even brought in my own oil and had the dealer change it at...

    High or Low Viscosity.

I think it’s easier to say that there are Principles we have learned over the years. More highs is better, but how much do we really need? There is something to be said for better engine responsiveness when it isn’t fully up to temperature. As a thickly I am ok running 0w16 with whatever...

2024 Corolla Cross Hybrid Milky oil cap

If you are getting any warmer weather you may not get a duplication until next winter. No warranty worries with the early oil change. I am running mine all the way to 10k but with your circumstance I would do the same as you did. You did no damage this is just condensation of oil vapor and...

2024 Corolla Cross Hybrid Milky oil cap

I work at a transportation manufacturing facilty. We recieve transmissions from a supplier, filled with transmission fluid ready to go. Due to the manufacturing process the transmission is drained prior to assembly and new fluid is added prior to first start. There is room for human error.

2024 Corolla Cross Hybrid Milky oil cap

Your engine is very new. Were you measuring a high oil level at any time?you mentioning extra oil volume requires additional explantation. In the winter the engine will kick on earlier if I am demanding heat for example. Let the engine kick on and turn the heat down to 65 for example and pit...

2024 Corolla Cross Hybrid Milky oil cap

I don’t think it’s likely either of those scenarios are the most probable cause. Your local climate and driving pattern are the most likely culprit. The thermostat is set for 87c. The engine can reach that temperature quickly but it takes a while to burn off the condensation at that...

2024 Corolla Cross Hybrid Milky oil cap

It depends on how much and how hard the IC is running but typically an IC needs 20 minutes or so of steady highway driving to reach full equilibrium. A hybrid can take around 25 percent longer considering on ramps and lights coul have an average ev runtime of 25%. Everyone’s drive is different...

2024 Corolla Cross Hybrid Milky oil cap

This engine runs cool regardless of hybrid or conventional driveline. You could try sport mode to help it get warmer and as someone suggested easy with the heater. The moisture will resolve with warmer temps and or longer runs. My 23 cchybrid does not have this symptom but I drive 46 miles...

    Long OCI

There is no reason not to go to the factory recommended service interval for the majority of the population. Our driving conditions and habits are already known and are taken into consideration with a touch of conservative buffer. I do not consider 10k to be “extended” I think it's the new normal.

    2022 Toyota Tacoma SR5, V6

Big enough to tow the largest U-Haul trailer easily, small enough to ride a U-Haul car carrier. Good for yard work.

    2022 Toyota Tacoma SR5, V6

I have never felt taxed by the automatic transmission shifting. The trucks doing the work. 6 th gear will be more useful for 40-60 mph backroads than 75 mph I interstate. Even my 4 runners screamed through gears when I lived in Colorado. The Toyota cruise control has always been a bit “do or...

    2022 Toyota Tacoma SR5, V6

I have had my 2018 since April of 2018. Used it as my work truck while I was a consultant in the Delaware basin in west Texas. It was paid off in 6 months. Had to have a truck in that role. I then used it to drive to construction sites all over Texas. The truck is best suited for back roads...

How many people prefer to use the dealer for services while under factory warranty?

I have always used the Toyota care services. Sometimes I changed oil early or had the dealer do an early change.
