Pentosin ATF1 versus ZF Lifeguard 5 for BMW

Yes, the BMW Specification is what my transmission requires. The ZF ATF fluid also meets it. Does that mean they are the same or if Pentosin makes it ? The Pentosin is fully synthetic. Is it ok to mix these ?

Pentosin ATF1 versus ZF Lifeguard 5 for BMW

I wonder if anyone has experience or knowledge about ZF Lifeguard5 ATF versus Pentosin ATF1 automatic transmission fluid. Someone suggested that the ZF ATF is made by Pentosin. Any opinion regarding which is best for a 2001 BMW 325i ? There is also the BMW ATF but I wonder if that is made by...

First ATF and Filter change in 155k BMW 2001

I have a follow up question to my previous post. I have a 2001 BMW 325i with 153000 miles on it that has never had a previous automatic fluid transmission change. There was an Amsoil technical article saying that many mechanics recommend changing the ATF and Filter one more in the first few...

Changing BMW AT Fluid at 155,000Miles For 1st Time

I'm not sure what steps I could do it in. I was thinking of what I think is called a drain and fill by replacing about 5 quarts of ATF fluid (BMW ATF) and changing the filter and gasket. But maybe 5 quarts at once is too much ?

Changing BMW AT Fluid at 155,000Miles For 1st Time

We bought a 2001 BMW 325i with 153,000 miles that had never had its automatic transmission changed. I have been told by different experienced sources different things. Our BMW dealer service manager sold he probably wouldn't do it as sometimes it creates problems. Consumer Reports in their new...

What Additive/s make an Oil Long Lived (eg. BMW LL

Here is a pretty technical question for the chemists among us. I wonder which additive or additives make an oil a long lived oil like BMW LL-01 oils (Castrol 0-W40 or Mobil 1 0-W40)?

Pennzoil Ultra 0W-40 SRT Oil for 1999 BMW 318I ?

Given the choice between MaxLife semi-synthetic 5W-30 and the full synthetic SRT 0W-40, I would go the SRT every time. I would not add anything extra to the oil, use it As Is. Did you get a good deal on some SRT ? Yes, I bought 7 quarts at the Autozone clearance.

Pennzoil Ultra 0W-40 SRT Oil for 1999 BMW 318I ?

Thank you, BMW 320i (and all) I was thinking of running the Pennzoil 0W-40 SRT for about 7000 miles (about 6 months). That's a good point that it isn't ACEA 3/4. Any thoughts of using it for this long an oil change interval ? The Maxlife 5W-30 (Semisynthetic) I'm running isn't ACEA 3/4 (I...
