    Happy with DIY bypass results

If your talking about my Simota filter it does very well, I am also modded stock boost is 12, I can't suck 23psi of boost through a 1.7" hole of the stock airbox and silencer. Another good reason to have good filters. I clean that thing like one a month and Simoto is a good balance between flow...

    Happy with DIY bypass results

Van has a big oil cooler stock, I also run a spin on filter set up on the transmission as well. I am going to give the BD7317 a shot when I do change my filters in a year or so.

    Happy with DIY bypass results

Some of use don't care about the cost and like doing stuff just to do it. Recommended oil change on my Elgrand is 5000klm, That's barely 3000 miles. Going 3 times to 4 times further with cleaner oil and less wear on a 7.4qt system is a good enough cost savings for me. My kit cost less than 100...

    Happy with DIY bypass results

I replaced that air filter and moved it back a ways when I took that picture. I plan to run these around 20000 miles. I'll do a oil test at 10000 but that will take a long time to get to. And the front side of that filter is just the same material as the side so it's just wired gauze rubbing...

    Happy with DIY bypass results

I posted some stuff a while back about a DIY bypass kit I was putting on my Nissan Elgrand overseas. Well I did do a change in filters and went with the LF9028 filter which bypass section is like 98% efficiency at 5 microns. Along with my Luberfiner XL filter. Here's was the original ideal...

    Powercurve

Saw this stuff on Performance TV on Fox sports network while waiting for my own product product to be featured on the same show. http://powercurve.net/xp-12/ The MSDS on the stuff does not show Zinc so I wonder what it is exactly. Maybe we will get a VOA on the stuff one of these days on it...

    Baldwin B2-HPG versus Fleetguard LF3487 (FL-1A's)

I had actually posted the pics, don't know where they went. Never tested them side by side but as far as I know they are identical as the Donaldson. It's prior to when they had their new synthetic media.

    Baldwin B2-HPG versus Fleetguard LF3487 (FL-1A's)

I don't know if the HPG is better than the LF3482 because the Fleetguards nominal rating is 73% @ 10 microns and the Baldwin is 8 microns at 50% efficiency. Seems like they will probably be identical. The Fleetguard is also pretty much identical to the Donaldson. And pretty dang close...

    Baldwin B2-HPG versus Fleetguard LF3487 (FL-1A's)

    The LF3487 is absolute @ 30 microns 73% 10 microns. It's not statapore but microglass. B2-HPG is 8 micron nominal and 23 micron absolute. B2-- 22 micron nominal ( Beta @ 2 = 2) and 45 absolute (Beta @ 45 = 75) I prefer the LF3487.

    Filter math?

For my set up these are already more than double the flow @ 8.7 GPM compared to the stock filter and double the size dirt holding capcity @ 20g of dirt holding capcity. So this should not be much of a issue. I also have a oil pressure gauge tied into my system to keep a eye on things. I have...

    Filter math?

I actually don't use it on a Cummins engine, If I did I would just use the LF9028 buy itself or my Luberfiner. I use it on my Nissan Elgrand with the QD32ETI 3.2 turbo diesel. These already flow double what the stock filter flows. (this is a overseas vehicle) Lots of Cummins guys are now...

    Filter math?

Yes it's a different spin on a bypass set up, Much less than a Amsoil unit and as good as I need. I was just curious if I could extrapilate a efficiency rating from the numbers. Either way it's a good set up.

    Filter math?

Questions, say you have 2 filers on a dual remote mount set up. One is Luberfiner Imperial XL series with is Absolute at 20 microns & 5 microns nominal, the other is a LF9028 Venturi combo filter whose bypass section is 5 microns absolute. What does that make the 5 micron efficiency on a single...

    Am I wasting $12 on M1 filters?

You can get Baldwin B35S from filter barn for less than $3 dollars those have a nominal rating of 12 microns plus they hold more dirt than your average filter. It doesn't get to much better than a Baldwin for that price. They also have the LF3554 which is a full microglass media filter that is...

    bd7317

Check the diesel forums, lots of people are using these as well as the LF9028, It has the same flow as normal statapore media filter. There has been no reported issues using these since they came out, many people have used them for years.

Fleetguard made in SE Asia lower quality?

Well here's the deal with that, Fleetguard sent me photos of the same filters also no country of origin. This was from their Singapore distrubution center. The ones I posted are what they state are made in Malaysia and that they are working with them to have the silk screening univesal. I...

Fleetguard made in SE Asia lower quality?

These are filters sold at the Fleetguard vendor in the Philippines not the US. I only use the made in USA ones, I brough this topic up for some of my friends over there. The Baldwin filters sold there are still the good old main in the USA but the Fleetguards are mixed depending on what filter...

Fleetguard made in SE Asia lower quality?

Just wondering why the these vary so much in quality. For example many have half the holes in the base, they don't have a country of origin on the filter or the box only the original shipping box. Here is a example. Notice the fuel filter only has 4 holes vs the US version which has 8...
