Honda type 2 or zerex asian?

Does zerex asian formula coolant work for honda/acuras or should I stick with the type 2 from the dealer? The zerex at advance after discount codes is about 1/3 the price of the type 2 from the dealer. Second, the zerex asian at advance and oreillys is red. From their website it looks like...

VW jetta oil and filter recommendations

Might as well get some advice on oil and filters for this car also. Family member got a 99 jetta 2.0L with only 55,000 miles on it. It came with no owner's manual so I'm searching all I can for the maintenance info. From what I can tell it takes 5W30 oil but not positive on that? Any...

99 Jetta 2.0 coolant drain and fill

Thanks guys. Do you know if the G12 stuff comes full strength or is pre diluted 50/50? It was hard to tell from what I've found online. It looks to come full strength but I want to be 100% sure before I order it. Also is there anything special to filling or bleeding these cars? I didn't see a...

    99 VW Auto fluid change

Thank you guys for the help. Especially the links. Looks pretty straight forward as far as the filter goes. The only issue is not having a vag com but I've done other vehicles that state temps also and I usually just run up to operating temp and try to use an infrared temp gun to get close. I...

Leaking fuel at pressure regulator - gm 3.1 v6

I just bought one of those 3.1L PCV tubes from the dealership, a whopping 8 bucks. It pretty much crumbled when I changed the PCV. It comes as a whole piece and takes about 5 minutes to change with minimal tools, think a 1/4" socket set will do it. The dealer should have what you need in stock.

99 Jetta 2.0 coolant drain and fill

Family member bought a 99 Jetta 2.0L and I want to go over it and freshen everything up since we don't know the service history and I'll be taking care of this car. It says it has G12 coolant. I've never worked on a German car before so I have just about every other coolant besides that. I've...

Malibu 3.6L 6 speed drain and fill

I just noticed today that you can't use advance codes on trans fluid anymore. It's been about a year or so since I've bought any trans fluid and the codes have always worked but when I added it to my cart today the codes worked on everything else but the trans fluid. Bummer.

    Speed Bleeders - worth it?

They work alright if you only have one vehicle. I bought the mityvac brake bleeder that hooks up to my compressor and I love it. Makes it a one person job and can use it on any vehicles.

    Chrysler 3.2L head gasket questions

Sorry I left that out on the first post, didn't mean to "sandbag" anyone. Anyone have advice on doing a head gasket job on a 3.2L? I've done a few on chevys but this one looks like it will be fun with how the engine is. Thanks

    Chrysler 3.2L head gasket questions

Can you explain this more? I was under the impression that when you use one of these, http://www.tooltopia.com/uview-560000.aspx, and the fluid turns yellow it means that combustion gases are getting into the cooling system from the head gasket. It would be great if nothing were wrong but I'm...
