My 2019 Toyota Camry XSE w/2.5L 4-cylinder requires 0W16 synthetic every 10k miles. I get that the oil may be good for that long but what about the oil filter?

I don't know about your area but around these parts, wood is incredibly expensive plus with wood heat, the majority of the heat goes up the chimney.

No, sir, it doesn't use any oil. It goes down about half a quart in 5k miles. I had the timing belt changed at 60k and again at 122k. Both times, just as all the other work done, it was performed by the Kia store where I bought the car new. They know the car well there due to its condition.

Thank you very much. I was sitting in it a few months ago with the window down. A man the next car over rolled his window down and asked me who painted my car. I told him that was the original paint from 15 years ago. And he was amazed. Being garaged has made all the difference.

I know but back when I bought this car in 2006, 5k OCI was normal and not beyond. My owner's manual calls for 7.5k but back in '06 that sounded extreme. I was from back in the day when we did OCIs every 3k.

I know but the little old car still looks and runs like new. Always been garaged, never been hit or bumped. So I just go overboard with it just like all my other cars. I have OCD. The pic I posted was just taken recently.

A friend of mine said the sales guy at O'Reilly Auto Parts told him that their brand of synthetic oil is made by Mobil and is the exact same formula as Mobil 1. Does anyone know if this is true?

Doesn't anyone like Castrol SynTec anymore?

Put a half quart of transmission fluid in with the oil when you change and the ticking will cease.
