i like both oils!, i run M1 in my Jeep and my dads ford ranger becasue i belive M1 is still way up there when it comes to full synthetic oils, (BTW is mobil 1 considered a group 5 synthetic?) i use German castrol in the BMW because of its ACEA A3 rating and support from fellow BMW enthusiasts.

you should be good, i only use synthetic in my Jeep becasue i like too, its really not nessasary as long as your follow the OCI you laid out.

i have a BMW 330 which has the same engine as youyr 5 series and im usisng the GC 0w-30 and so far its great, as you said you would do i would stick with 7500 mile changes anymore and the oil starts to get very black and dirty.

i want to run Shell Rotella in my Jeep 4.o engine becuase of the higher Zinc content in the diesel oil but im worried 5w-40 will be too thick for our temps, i would be using the Rotella T6 5W-40 we see temps down to -20 C (-4 F) quite often in the winter. your Thoguhts? id really like to run...

The Compaq is good except for the AMD processor, for what you will be doing i think you would be happy with ethier System.

thanks for the replies i just checked My local CT and they carry the Shell Rotella T6 5w-40, my only concern is we regularaly experience tempertures down to -20 C and sometimes as low as -30 Celsius.... ill give it a shot next and see if the engine even starts in the cold with that oil....

well thanks for the replies guys im thinking of just flushing the system and refilling with the Chysler stuff as i haveent seen the Zerox in stores around here. you say the Chysler stuff is G05 and red in color?
