    Time for a Vacation

So I'm giving myself a vacation from BITOG. I just don't agree with some of the stuff I have seen in the past week and feel if I don't get away I may something I shouldn't. Some people have opinion and they need to remain just that. I'll check in now and again and if anyone needs advice diesel...

Thinking of buying a used car...

Coolant temp sensors are the norm on the TDI. We replace them all the time. Parts only 30.00

Engine oil bottle foil went inside the engine

I deal with warranty everyday and his best option is to be truthful about what happened and pay to have it looked for. They wont flag the truck. Dealer hate being lied to so just be honest and it will work out.

Thinking of buying a used car...

The TDI is nice but maintance cost is very high on them. If you go this route you need to make sure the timing belt has been replaced or plan another 800.00 to have it done crown vic are okay if you want a 1500 cop car or are 70 years old so if not the TDI buy the stang.

Engine oil bottle foil went inside the engine

LOL Lots of very poor advice....DO NOT remove the valve cover. Every bit of warranty will go right out the door if he attempts that. I promise you the tech will know also. With 80,000 miles of warranty left he may consider having the dealer pull the cover just to make sure nothing is there. Be...

    RCR and Ultra

Roger Has his hand in so many things your head would spin, not to mention he's #140 of forbes 400 richest list. He also almost inked a deal to purchase saturn but something fell through with GM on it. He's a pretty powerful person

Engine oil bottle foil went inside the engine

Sure hope nothing happens...2010 means under warranty which means denial if something happens. That will be found and get very expensive

Engine oil bottle foil went inside the engine

I dont know about castrol but there opening are alot larger then a dime also. The oil pickup is attached to the block and sucks oil out of the pan it has a screen on it

Engine oil bottle foil went inside the engine

I don't belive MC has foil over the top. Redline I know does, but not any commercial products. It'll get stuck to the oil pickup before anything if it makes it through the oil passages I think he didnt see anything

Yup more cars and more markets I wonder why anyone would want to sponsor Crash Hornish. He need to go back to some added downforce. I'm not sure he will ever give Penske many wins and especially a championship. Kurt on the other hand can wheel a car. His wins at bristol and the short tracks...

    Oil Consumption Update

I worked for Saturn for a brief time before going to ford in 97. We didnt consider consumption excessive until it burned a qt in 1000 miles. Back then 3000 mile oilchanges is all we heard of. You cam cover isn't leaking right? Pull the wires and see if the are saturated with oil

    3/8" ratchet feedback needed.

If you guys are paying 100.00 for an F80 your getting ripped off. Pickup a nice used 936 from ebay. the 936 is better built then the 80's are although the 80 is finer tooth I believe. I can say I have never broke one but I have worn a few out in 15 years. The nice thing is rebuilds cost nothing...

    3/8" ratchet feedback needed.

There is no ratchet built better then a Snapon ratchet, even the sears pro line is junk. It's polished to look pretty and comforts but the gears are cheap. It's the same guts that in the cheaper ratchets with square handles. Now if your just backyard wrenching you can probably get away with...
