    Question about America's Tire warranties

Hooray! AT refunded me the entire amount paid ($67.75 total for cert fees and install). Since my tire damage happened just a week over their 30-day unlimited replacement period, they honored it. I decided against the "Protect Your Purchase" certificates, so everything was refunded. Very pleasant...

    Question about America's Tire warranties

Yes, feeling a little ripped off. I think they were being deceptive because there was no mention of their free prorated road hazard warranty. I thought I was liable for the total cost of the replacement tire, so when they dangled the cert deal in front of me, I bit.

    Question about America's Tire warranties

The certs totaled $47.50. The tires were $70 each when I purchased them.

    Question about America's Tire warranties

I bought tires from AT last month, but didn't buy the "Protect Your Purchase" certificates. Anyhow, today I picked up a nail in one tire. AT claimed it was unrepairable and would have to be replaced. Instead of actually paying for another tire, they said I could just buy the certificates now -...

    high gas prices again!

Here in L.A. it's crazy. Most gas stations around L.A. are pushing near the $4 mark. A station in West Covina has the dubious distinction of having the highest price in the nation, $4.69 for regular. Prius drivers are smugly smiling now! Me? I'm communing with my beautiful, mellow cat named...

    Shell V-Power fuel cleaner

...Then again, maybe there's a reason it's at Big Lots.

MMO: is 4-oz per 10-gal too much?

Well a 2 ounce dose is certainly more economical. Less is more? Maybe the folks at MMO are just trying to sell more product?

    Remember the Cibie 35 series?

I know this is an old thread, but I recently saw pair of Cibie 35's, just like the ones in the picture I posted. They were on a neat little 240Z. What a refreshing site to see! Yeah, I'm old school.

MMO: is 4-oz per 10-gal too much?

I know that 4 ounces is recommended, but is it really necessary? Could 2-oz per 10-gal of gas be just as effective? What do you guys use on a regular basis?

    WalMart exiting the Tire Business??

Out of all the Wallys in my area, only one has tires/service. As others have said, their prices suck. No "Great Value" there.

    America's Tire

Coincidentally, I bought two Riken Raptor HR tires from them this past Monday. I mentioned that Discount Tire Center's price was cheaper, so they beat their price by $5/tire. I ended up getting the Rikens (205/60 15) for $47/each - total out-the-door $141.60. The service was completed within 40...

How do you mix your fuel additives?

To me, it makes more sense to put your goodies into the tank first, then pump the gas in to mix it up. Also, I have a small long-neck Lucas bottle that comes in handy for adding additives. It's clear plastic, so I've marked it off in ounce increments. The long-neck is easy to stick into my car's...

Any good deals on Lucas Fuel Treatment?

Hmmm... truck stop? I might try that. I'm looking to pickup a gallon for around $20. Is that possible?

Any good deals on Lucas Fuel Treatment?

I've tried SI-1, MMO and TCW3. My older car just runs better with the Lucas, using only an ounce per 5 gals gas. When I used SI-1, the Check Engine Light lit up for 4 days.

Any good deals on Lucas Fuel Treatment?

Well, I've started using Lucas again. The 32oz bottle is $9.67 at Walmart. The gallon is $30 at Autozone. Any cheaper prices out there? I live in L.A.

    Which octane boost is best?

I think most "Octane Boosters" are a ripoff. Have you seen claims such as, "SuperDuper will increase octane by 6 points"? Well, they consider a "point" to be one tenth of a whole number. So, if you're using 87-octane gas, the booster will only make it 87.6!

    Uhhoh.. They overfilled my oil

Here's something interesting. I checked the Altima owners manuals for different years, and these are the oil capacities (w/ filter) I found: 1996 - 1997... 4 qts. 1998.......... 4 1/4 qts. 1999 - 2001... 3 5/8 qts. As far as I know, the Altima engines were identical for these years, but the...

Motor Up is $1.50 at Big Lots

Yes, the FTC went after a bunch of the oil additives - DuraLube, Slick 50 and Prolong were among them. I guess these companies were overstating their advertising claims, which is typical of any marketing scheme - but it doesn't mean the products are totally worthless. (Well, sometimes they...

If you ever wanted to try this stuff, I guess a buck fifty isn't too much to ask.

Whats your take on this method for saving fuel?

I don't think the cost of this mixture is too much at all. He's using such small amounts of the acetone, xylene and oil. I figure it's less than 20-cents per 10 gallons of gas. Of course, there's a big YMMV with this sort of thing.
