2013 Sienna dealer put in wrong weight

The 0W20 runs off the dipstick as you pull it out. So when it's out you can actually see the reading changing on the dipstip. Then when you wipe it stick it back in and pull it out again the dipstick has oil all up and down it from what ran off on the first pull plus you can see the reading...

2013 Sienna dealer put in wrong weight

Thanks everyone this is really helpful input. Just leaving the 5W30 in there was really what I was leaning toward. I'm really questioning if they actually changed the clearances in the engine between 2010 and 2011 or if they just finished whatever certification they do to that confirms that the...

2013 Sienna dealer put in wrong weight

I bought a 2013 Toyota Sienna back in May and it came with two "free" oil changes. The drive back to the dealership was a little far but I decided hey why not take them up on the "free" oil change. The van calls for a 0W20 but when I got home from the service yesterday I realized that the...

Oil and filter for 2013 Sienna

Well it's been pretty busy around here but in the mist of it I've finally ironed out all the details on the warranty. It turns out there were three more pages to the warranty document that were accidentally omitted from my take home packet. Those pages spell out all the details. I was also able...

Oil and filter for 2013 Sienna

Thanks everyone for the input, super helpful. I'm thinking I'll probably go with the OEM filter and feel pretty good with any synthetic 0W20 that's a reasonable price. We'll see what I can dig up on the "free" forever warranty, it will be really sweet if that's legit. Thanks again for the input!

Oil and filter for 2013 Sienna

Oh, and I forgot to mention that after the purchase I kept thinking that the oil level looked overfull. It's very hard to check on this van, just runs right off the dipstick, and remnants from the tube run onto the dipstick, so there's oil all up and down the stick and ya get a different reading...

Oil and filter for 2013 Sienna

Ok so here's the scoop on the warranty. During the negation and paperwork finalization the sales guy showed me a really detailed document on what was covered. Basically anything engine and transmission. I expected that paper to be included in the packet I took home but it wasn't. all i had in my...

Oil and filter for 2013 Sienna

I recently bought a 2013 Toyota Sienna with 95,000 miles on it. The manufacturer recommended maintenance plan calls for 0W20 with 10,000 mile OCI. I've been doing some searching and it looks like the 2GRFE engine is pretty happy with a number of different brands and weights. I'm thinking I'll...

Looking for a good backup Cam

Any one have any thoughts on the wired vs wireless? I'm still thinking for this application wired makes the most sense. We can just buy the longer wires to make connection from the front to the back of the bus and then from the back of the bus to the back of the trailer.

Thanks, I'll have to check out the crimestopper brand. I took a quick look at the site today. Looks like they have quite a few options on there.

Looking for a good backup Cam

So, I'm in charge of two "mini-buses" at our church. One is a Ford E-450, and the other is a Chevy 3500 series. It's the type of bus where Ford/Chevy provides the drive train and chassis and some RV company puts the bus body on it. So I've been asked to look into some good ideas for back up...

    Rotors for 2006 Caravan, recommendations??

Thanks all for your input. I decided to try out the Duralast Gold rotors. Maybe sometime in the future I can contribute some feed back about how they turn out. I realized I didn't mention in the original post that the current rotors are very worn. At least they are the worse I've ever seen...

    Rotors for 2006 Caravan, recommendations??

Well it's time to change the brakes on the 2006 Grand Caravan. When I was reading reviews before buying this van, one of the major weak spots noted in this vehicle was brake life. So I've decided I'm definitely going to go with the ceramic brake pads. The point where I'm a little undecided is...

Mopar +4 vs Castrol +4 vs BG

I'm realizing that I should have said "fluid exchange" instead of flush. I'm just thinking of a simple passive exchange where the new fluid is added into the cooler return line as the transmission pumps it out of the exit cooler line. Does a simple fluid exchange really risk damage?

Mopar +4 vs Castrol +4 vs BG

Well this thread is pretty much going where I was expecting it to go. I'm typically against "universals," additives, etc. But I've heard such good things about BG that I thought I'd give it a chance here. Any thoughts on the flush vs pan drop? I saw one vote for pan drop. Any ideas as to why...

Mopar +4 vs Castrol +4 vs BG

It's time to change the transmission fluid in the 2006 Grand Caravan. Actually, at 108,000 miles it's a bit overdue. I'm trying to decide which fluid to use in it. Because of local availability I've narrowed it down to Mopar +4, Castrol Transmax +4, and the BG synthetic universal transmission...

Revived an old laptop... what else can I do?

I'm a computer professional and work for a medium business that used to be a small business. In the old days I spent a lot of time trying to revive old computers like that one. My experience has been that there's nothing that will help and old windows computer more than a fresh install. However...
