    2013 GM 4.3L 1/2 ton Opinions

Thanks all. This dealer has most of his inventory at pretty good prices with discounts/rebates - its what got me looking at GM again. It's equipped with auto and 3.23. Used trucks in my area are more ridiculously priced than new ones and plain-jane regular cabs are hard to come by. I wasn't...

    2013 GM 4.3L 1/2 ton Opinions

I think the 2013 corolla will have the same limitations of the 2004. It really isn't efficient at carrying bulky items, but thanks.

    2013 GM 4.3L 1/2 ton Opinions

Looking at a Chevy 1500 LS 2wd regular cab with 4.3L to replace 2004 Corolla. Internet price under $16K. Use is weekend DYI and daily 5 mile commute to commuter lot. My recollection of readings on the board is the engine/tranny is durable, but not exciting. I know there are a lot of other...

    2012 Chrysler 300 Review

I bought a base 300 in late October. I agree with your likes, but I bought this car for its smooth quiet ride and it goes around corners just fine for me. There is a re-programming TSB on this model. I'm going over the river and through the woods over Christmas and will give a more detailed...

    Winter Tires in Mid Atlantic

The Corolla in my signature is my beater to the commuter lot and back home. 10 miles a day and maybe a run to the dump once every few months. It needs new tires. I can price a set of winter tires about the same as all seasons and not having ever had a set, thought I would experiment since we may...

    Ultimate Road Trip Vehicle?

My father use to drive a sales route (80k/yr) back in the 70's & 80's and was a firm believer in long wheelbase, soft springs, stiff shocks, and a heavy RWD sedan format. He did not want to feel the road - just get to his next appointment without breaking his body. I still think this is the...

What Lube to make a weighted sled slide easier?

I don't think any lube would be as efficient as adding rollers. Maybe some iron pipe mounted to the bottom of the sled to span both rails so you can keep the side blocks.

Echo PB 251 - Help Please

I've had this blower for going on 6 years. Always ran like a top. A couple months ago it started running poorly, hard to start. I thought my bad for leaving fuel in it over the winter so new plug, fuel filter, air filter and muffler gaskets. Exhaust screen was clean. Picked up a can of pre-mix...

zero turn mower deck spindle grease

Unless there is something specific in the manual, a NLGI #2, GC-LB rated lithium complex grease. 3% Moly additive is a plus. Valvoline Palladium has worked well for me, but there are other brands that work fine too. Should be good for all grease points. Nice mower, let us know how she cuts.

Thanks all. Some good recommendations here - more than expected. Something to ponder.

2012 or 13 with Easiest Oil Change

Looking around again for a new car. A Camry or Passat were high on the list. The Camry seems a pain to do oil changes on from the videos I've seen. While not really a deciding factor just wondering which new cars (mid or large sedan) have the easiest oil changes. I'm use to ramps for raising...

    2010 Forester NA 2.5L - Summer oil

The EJ engine is easy on oil. Consumption and/or volatility of lighter oils is another issue. If you check frequently and top off and are ok with adding then 5w-30 is fine. I prefer an oil that stays put. Any of the heavier oils in the manual will work fine. I've run straight 30, 15w-40 and...

    2000 Subaru Outback oil/filter reccomendation

Consumption might not be an engine problem, but rather an oil problem. My Outback does not like some 5w-30s, for instance Napa full synthetic. I'd recommend Maxlife 10w-30 or Rotella T5 10w-30 and your choice of filter. Try to check your oil weekly under the same conditions (hot/cold, location...

Love the website, grease is new to me

You have some varying requirements for your equipment and I wouldn't necessarily say you are getting the best lubrication if only using one type of grease. Start with your manuals. It should at least say what grade of grease you need. GC-LB is the classification for a general chassis and wheel...
