    Shell Oil Filter

Hi all, Just had my oil changed at a Shell Rapid Lube. They used a SH29 Oil Filter on my Toyota Tacoma. I'm guessing that is a Shell OF. Anyone know who makes the Shell Oil Filters?

    New car break in

Here is my plan. I mostly likely will leave the factory oil in for 3500-4000miles. Then I want to switch to Mobil1 10w30. Living in Hawaii I don't think I really need 5w20 like Honda recommends. Even then I change my oil and filter(K&N) every 4000. My local dealer says to come in every...

    New car break in

What if I just refill with Honda oil 5w20. Does that have the Moly count I need? Or is break-in oil something else?

    Advice?

On my new Honda, how does this sound. After reading alot threads I"m thinking along this way. It sounds like Honda wants me to leave the factory fill in for 7500. No way. What if I change the oil with Honda 5w20. That should have the Moly they must want me to have in the new motor. Then at about...

    New car break in

When should you do your first oil change? My new Pilot says to NOT change the oil early. I have always thought it is better to do the first one rather soon...500-1000miles or so. Why are they telling me not to change it until 7500...that sounds nuts!

Hi SilverStreak, I have a new Honda Pilot, based on your Oil filter comments, should I use a K&N filter instead of a Honda OEM? I know K&N are good but, I heard that Honda OF are also good. thanks in advance..mv

    5w20 Honda Pilot

Ok, finally, since my Pilot suggests using 5w20. I still have one more question. Between M1 5w30 and 10w30, which would be better for my Pilot here in Hawaii(weather). 10w30 is easy to get here(costco). I can get 5w30 but, a little more of a hassle. But, I still would like the best I can get for...

    5w20 Honda Pilot

thanks again, I most likely will stick with synth. Mobil1 5w-30. 0w20 is hard to find here. In fact, I have never seen it. Of the two, which is better?. I hope 5w-30 since that is all I can find, with the exception of 10w-30. That is at costco..mv

    5w20 Honda Pilot

I know this has been answered before, but, I am new sorry. I just bought a Honda Pilot and it recommends 5w20 oil. However, I have heard even from the service dept where I bought it, that is is ok to use 5w30. I live in Hawaii so weather is not a problem. I ask because I really like Mobil1 5w30...
