Mobil 1 or Kendall GT-1 Titanium

I've always heard good things about Kendall. I was a fan of their Green GT-1 back in the day so I'm going to give this one a try and it's cheaper than M-1.

Mobil 1 or Kendall GT-1 Titanium

I agree with how you drive a vehicle contributes to its longevity too. I drive my car smoothly, that is no stomping on the gas or brakes although I love cornering fast. But what I wanted to know, does the Kendall have the composition to stack up to M1? I don't want to develop issues that I...

Mobil 1 or Kendall GT-1 Titanium

I've got a 2010 CTS 3.6L that came factory filled with M-1 5w30. I've got approx 34,000 miles with no oil consumption issues and have changed oil and filter every 5500 miles or so. I can get a deal on Kendall GT-1 full syn with titanium and am thinking of changing over. Can anyone offer thoughts...

This taken from the Mobil 1 Q & A thread: Will Mobil 1 officially meet dexos1? Yes. ExxonMobil announced that a number of its key products, including Mobil 1, are now officially dexos™ licensed worldwide. The dexos™-licensed ExxonMobil products will meet the GM global engine oil specifications...

Is it time to change my oil?

I changed the oil and filter today with only 650 miles on the oil, but it was a year old to the day. I filled with Brad Penn 10W40 Semi-Syn High Perf oil. The engine seems to run smoother. Maybe it's just me. Any thoughts on Brad Penn oils?

Brand New CTS 3.6L - First Oil Change

Changed out the oil today at 7000kms with 58% left according to the DIC. This is the first change out of the FF. It looked pretty dark. The filter seemed to have a few specks of metal on it, nothing to be concerned about I would think. I filled up the used containers and found there was about a...

Brand New CTS 3.6L - First Oil Change

Thanks for the replies everyone. I have the 3.6DI LLT and has FF M1 5W30. I use it as well on my TBSS as it was FF as well. The SS does not burn a drop so far at 62,000kms. I bought it with approx 8400kms and the OLM was at 0%. I changed the oil right away. Not sure if the FF had been changed...

Brand New CTS 3.6L - First Oil Change

FYI OLM shows 65% oil life remaining. Am I expected to change out the factory fill at over 15000kms? I don't think that is wise.

Brand New CTS 3.6L - First Oil Change

I'm currently at the 6000km mark on this new car. The manual says to change the oil according to the GM Oil Life Monitor. In my experience with the OLM in my 07 TBSS, oil changes typically are called for at between 7500 and 9000kms which is fine I guess. My question is regarding the FIRST oil...

Is it time to change my oil?

Its Forest Green, Dark Green Top, white stripes, Saddle (beige) interior, 4-speed, cowl hood. Go here for a look see: http://ssregistry.macswebs.com/1970/136370a_114xxx.htm I think I will go back to a Brad Penn 10w40 rather than the heavier 20w50. The car runs fairly cool at max. 180 degrees...

Is it time to change my oil?

Thanks for the replies. The car is an L34, all original survivor car, painted once and recently had the 396 rebuilt (3000mi ago). The car is in a heated garage over the winter, so moisture is not really a concern. I never start it over the winter, only disconnect the battery and cover it up. I...

Is it time to change my oil?

I've got a 1970 Chevelle SS 396 and it has been in storage since last November. It had fresh Brad Penn 20W50 in it at this time last year just before it came out for the '09 season. My questions are: (1)Is it best to change the oil now before I start it? (2)Since the oil has only approx...
