Just dumped the winter Redline 5W30 in to try Penn Ultra 5W30. To early to tell but Im looking for something Cheaper to run in my Mustang and Ranger. I have been running PP in the Ranger and I have been very happy.

My 04 Mach1 Specs 5W20 and I run 5W30. There is no gas milage difference. So I would say if your Grand Marguis was originaly specd 5W30 and it runs fine why change. Ford only did this for corp gas milage. Why not run a more robust oil? Its your engine.Why not?

I own the same car and have run 5w20 Redline, 5w30 Redline and 0w30 SSO. Tell him to quit using the Lucas and go to 30 weight if wants extra protection. I have had great results with any of the above oils.

I see that you are using Redline in your Tacoma. Ask him to try that. My boss has the exact same motor and has tried many different brands and weights. The piston slap is always there. Some people have found some motor oils that have quieted it down significantly. Some others nots so lucky.

Why not 5w30 Mobil? Let everyone know how this goes. I am sure you will be fine. Why does it seem so many people think 5w20 is the only oil you can run in these modular motors. I love 5w30 Redline in my 4v, all you can hear is the injectors.

Very good oil for the price. Lots of UOA's to prove it. Pennzoil is not number one in sales by luck.
