Oil for leaking rear main seal

Valvoline Maxlife. Trust me, I had the same issue on a Jeep with the notoriously leaky rear main. If that fails, replace the seal. Actually, you should replace the seal anyway, but Maxlife will help minimize the weeping.

Maker of Mopar 4781452BB oil filter? (3.7L Dodge)

So I finally decided to cut open an off the shelf Wally World Mopar and recently used Mopar dealer installed filter. They seem to both be Purolater. They stamping on the plate and the internals match a purolater that I cut up a while back.

No, they were hand tight both times. I also had 3 that never had any problems. Must have been a bad batch or something. This was several years ago, btw.

Best Oil for Chysler Jeep 4.0

4.0 is a beast. I have had 2, would have another one if it was available in my newer Jeep. I used everything in those without any issues, conventional, blend and full syn's of various brands. After about 120,000 it seemed to like Valvoline Maxlife conventional the best. Any decent oil done at...

MS 6395 -- What oils meet it?

I have, bet I can tell from reading on here and a couple of Dodge and Jeep sites, the M/N indicates revisions to the cold temp. flow requirements. I normally am not so picky about oil, but my 2007 4.7 Jeep XK is one of the Chryco vehicles that went from the 5w-30 to the 5w-20 recommendation...

MS 6395 -- What oils meet it?

I was looking at the same thing, here is what I know so far. I am sure there are more, but have not generated a full list yet. This is for 5w-20, 5w-30 and 10w-30 weights. Valvoline Durablend Valvoline Conventional Pennzoil Pennzoil Platinum Mobil 1 Mobil 1 EP Mobil 5000 Mobil 7500 Note...

Yeah, unless it breaks off, leaving just enough weld to make getting a cap on there nearly impossible. I had that happen twice, no more K&N for me.

Maker of Mopar 4781452BB oil filter? (3.7L Dodge)

I am pretty sure they are FRAM. I found a website not long ago that confirmed that based on the construction, media type and the stamp on the base plate, but don't have the link.

Proper oil for 2007 Jeep 4.7?

No worries Steve. I did look look through the analysis for all the Castrol GTX UOA, and I liked what I saw.

Proper oil for 2007 Jeep 4.7?

I don't think that was the implication of that statement. Even so, that would be misguided at best. Jeep is basically the only group of what was DC that has any real value.

Proper oil for 2007 Jeep 4.7?

So, I am a DA because I asked a question on a message board? If you can't understand why I have reservations about a new engine oil spec in a motor that has been around for 5 years, fine. Many posts on this board and others speak to concerns of manufacturers changing oil specs for CAFE...

Proper oil for 2007 Jeep 4.7?

Two Jeeps over 18 years, each with well over 150,000 miles with zero major problems, that's why. In this life, there are things I might lose sleep over. Worrying whether or not my Jeep will turn over tomorrow morning will never be one of them. Thanks to all for your input. From reading the...

Proper oil for 2007 Jeep 4.7?

My question is simple. The Jeep manual calls for 5w-20 in the 4.7 V8 engine. However, this engine has been around for a few years, and it has always been spec'd to 10w-30 or 5w-30. I am a bit leery of running 5w-20 in this engine, even though it is what the manufacturer specs. I bought a case...

    Val Maxlife and oil leaks

I moved to Maxlife in my old 4.0 Jeep Cherokee (XJ)for about 3 years before I got rid of it. Before, I had a slight, occasional drip from the rear main. The Maxlife stopped that within 2 OCI.
