You probably finished off a diode.

'24 Malibu. Bought and installed black wheel-skins over the existing silver rims. Man, i really like it.

What's the difference between a wheel skin and a hubcap?

Employment quiz- would you have gotten this sample question correct?

The answer is C. If you're an outside hire with management skills but no knowledge of the particular organization you need to assimilate to that org, and the underlings will help you do it. If they wanted A they'd promote from within the ranks.

    Reco auto break-in tools

What can't you do with a prybar wrapped in tape, a wedge, and a 3-foot long piece of 1/8" wire?

Does coolant in reservoir ever cycle through the system?

Not in OP's example. What's the backstory, does OP want to do a "gentle" coolant changeout? Fix a concentration issue to get back to 50/50? Working only with the overflow bottle is a dumb way to maybe eventually get there.

Is mid grade gas dyed yellow?

Gas is a mix of "I don't care" chemistry and can be clear to yellow. The only dye is red, to indicate it hasn't been road taxed. And my "I don't care", they do care. You can go to a paint store and buy all the stuff in gasoline for $25/gallon. The price is in the purity. They just get it in...

    15 clicks til full 🙄

Most cars the line from the top of the tank to the charcoal canister has a passive valve, eg one that releases when the pressure rises a little bit, like 1-2 PSI. If you park it with the engine off, even the battery disconnected, it will figure out to do. But the purge/ vent valves are...

Leviton Timer Switch DT130 - Neutral Connected To Ground

If you have current going to something and it's being used and not returning on the neutral being monitored by said outlet, it'll trip a GFCI if it's over 4-6 milliamps. A neutral became required in 2011 NEC, 404.2(C) but of course if you aren't doing major remodeling or renting the place out...

Leviton Timer Switch DT130 - Neutral Connected To Ground

Stoves are good examples because the clock, 15 watt bulb, and electronics ran on 110. You can still buy a new stove and then pick your own pigtail and how it's wired, to match the outlet already in your kitchen. New construction requires a neutral in every switch box. In the old days you...

    New “min” wage

Yeah, the feds could easily add 20 cents to a gallon of gas and it wouldn't hurt, except for the incumbents in November, LOL. I'd like to see heavier (less efficient) vehicles pay more-- they tear the roads up more. Mileage based taxes generally offend me as well. The poor make poor choices--...

Considering these used cars as commuter

Need info on respective powertrains. Rust not an issue. 45k in 10 years is slightly suspicious-- old lady miles. I give the Fusion a slight nod over the Camry.

    New “min” wage

Federal gas tax hasn't risen in actual cents since 1994. It's a bigger political third rail than social security.

    New “min” wage

State schools usually have sunshine laws where anyone can see salaries for faculty and staff. Private schools... Not so much. It would be useful to coerce these guys to open their books if their graduates are going to get loan interest forgiveness.

    Quick lube disaster-any ideas

Have a machine shop make a plate, maybe .050 thick, out of steel, with an inner and outer diameter to match your gouged surface. Gouge your surface up MORE, so epoxy will stick, then glue the plate to the existing surface. I've done this on ball valves that hold back a heck of a lot more pressure.

    New “min” wage

This is a common misconception. From FDR's speech: In my Inaugural I laid down the simple proposition that nobody is going to starve in this country. It seems to me to be equally plain that no business which depends for existence on paying less than living wages to its workers has any right to...

    New “min” wage

As a society on a whole we have a substantial amount of wealth. Nobody should be starving or homeless. Get someone stable, and if they want it nicer, then it's on them. Minimum wages are a good floor during deflationary times so employers don't undercut each other in a race to the bottom.

Nice. I'm impressed that all the bumper filler panels are intact and good shape. Those are often the first to go.

    NYC trip with kids!

My 14 y/o kid just went on a school sponsored tour and did a couple Broadway shows. Took 300 pictures of graffiti through the bus window. Had a great time and yours will too. He did a boat tour around Manhattan that managed to get the Statue of Liberty at sunset.

    Daughter wondering why tire flat

That looks like it wore evenly until the event that lead to the wires showing. I'd expect more scuffing, feathering, and cupping from a long-term alignment issue.

How to put a price on the value of a assumable low rate mortgage?

Does the bank have to approve the party assuming the note? I can see them being picky.
