    no GC at autozone...

Well, I mis-spoke concerning the 1/2 off deal. Normally when something is marked sell through, we can mark it down, however, I have learned we cannot mark down motor oil. Sorry guys. As for GC being discontinued, that looks to be the truth. Usually when something is marked as sell thru, once...

At the Autozone I work at in Universal City, TX, the GC is marked as sell thru, which means we sell it for 1/2 off.

1000 miles too soon for UOA?

Recently purchased an '02 Firehawk with 78K miles. There's roughly 1000 miles on the current fill of Penzoil 10W30. Is that enough use on the oil to get an accurate UOA? I'd like to get an idea of the engine condition and I don't want to wait any longer Plus I have some GC green I'm eager to try.

Lucked out and found 5 quarts of GC Green (bottles were real dusty) at my local Auto Zone today. They rang up at the sale price also.

    78K mile LS1 oil recommendation

Just picked up an '02 Firehawk w/ 78K on the clock. After reveiwing the maintenance records, it seems that the previous owner fed it a steady diet of dino Penzoil 10W30 every 3-4K. I'd like to switch to synthetics and it seems that GC is the syn of choice for the LS1. Does anyone forsee any...

Need some oil advice for my Jeep

Does the 15W-40 need to be rated for gas engine use? Also, I assume there would be a slight hit in gas mileage?

Need some oil advice for my Jeep

Thanks for all the input guys. Looks like I'll be heading down to the local Advanced Auto to pick up some of the discounted old Havoline. One more question, with it being so #@$%! hot here during the summer (100+ on a daily basis), would it be more beneficial to run 10W-40 instead of 10W30?

Need some oil advice for my Jeep

Kiefer, It is indeed the HO straight 6. My previous Cherokee had 182K when I sold it and it still ran strong. The 4.0's are great motors.

Challenger71, You don't find the 0W to be too thin?

Need some oil advice for my Jeep

New to the site; lots of interesting reading here. I recently purchased a '99 Jeep Cherokee, 4.0, with 95K on the clock. She runs good, doesn't burn any oil, and has no leaks. (although the rear main is starting to seep slightly) Valvetrain is a little noisy, but that's pretty commom with the...
