    Tacoma, codes P0441, P0446

I have the locking version of the Stant on my 2009 Tacoma since the 2nd gen doesn't have a locking fuel door. I have had this cap for almost 10 years now. One thing that seems to help with seal life on the gas cap is applying a bit of dielectric grease to them when they are still new. They won't...

    Found a long lost stash.

This wasn't your typical store brand oil, either. Caltex (a joint venture between Chevron and Texaco dating back to the 1930s, long before their recent merger) made this oil, in Australia. It was good stuff and still is, although the Caltex Australia division has been sold off by ChevronTexaco...

    Mobil 1 ATF being discontinued?

Actually it meets the requirements of Ford Mercon V. It also meets the requirements of the JASO 1-A specification, which is the basis for why I've been using it in Toyota and Honda transmissions. I have about 320,000 miles across 3 vehicles, all of which are still on their original transmissions.

    Hands free Bluetooth

I routed the wire for my mic up the a-pillar, which was part of a JVC head unit. The mic sits out of the way at the corner of the a-pillar and ceiling.

Toyota WS - Valvoline MVI Syn OK as replacement?

For what it's worth, I've used Mobil 1 ATF in the transmission I have that calls for Toyota WS (2009 RAV4). Although not specifically approved for WS, and no longer listed by Mobil for T-IV (it used to be on the bottle), I now have 120,000+ miles and no transmission issues. I replaced initially...

Mobil 1 0w-30 on sale at Wally

Yeah, saw those red tags on it here too. Guy in the department said they were getting rid of the M1 0w-30 "because that is just too thin, you'll ruin your car with it!" Hope they don't get rid of the 5qt jugs too. :-(

    M1 20W 50 V-Twin Synthetic Oil As Gun Lube ?

Will my gun fall apart if I use 0w-30?

    Relocating to Charleston SC

Charleston's cost of living has continued to increase, because the influx of new residents has, over the past 2+ decades, voted for more and more tax hikes and also fueled a real estate bubble that has yet to really pop. I considered moving there, but ultimately found satisfaction elsewhere.

    Rice oil

Found their website: http://1800589rice.com/ Apparently they distribute Conoco Phillips lubricants among other things. Could your dealer be using Kendall under the wholesaler's name?

    infection DNS Changer?

Actually, that site checks for a single malware infection by checking whether or not you can resolve a domain correctly that the malware causes to be misdirected. There are several news stories about the DNS Changer infection, like this one: http://www.wyff4.com/news/local-news/gre...mz/-/index.html

    Mobil 1 Supply Interruption

I like the 0w-30. I've been using that since it came out in a 5qt jug. No test data, though. I'm patiently waiting for the return of Mobil 1 ATF to the shelves, though.

    Mobil 1 Supply Interruption

Back when Ike hit, everyone here in the Carolinas were lining up to buy gas... I went to Walmart instead and picked up 4 of the 5qt jugs of M1 0w-30. I remember my wife rolling her eyes at that purchase, but now it doesn't seem so dumb. I haven't seen a 5qt jug of M1 0w-30 at either store since...

    Power Drills

Bosch cordless (Made in Switzerland). Only one I could find at the time that wasn't made in China or Mexico. It's a great drill. 14.4V for around $150. I'm thinking of getting the 18V sometime, though (but mine has been powerful enough so far).

    Toyota T-IV = Dexron III ?

FWIW, I just drained the factory fill of T-IV at 48,000 mi in my 2006 Scion xA. I refilled with Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF "Multi Vehicle Formula". Shifts still feel the same. I'll let you know how things are after 10,000 miles. My decision to try M1 ATF was based in part on discussions here and on...
