    2018 Hyundai Ioniq fuel dilution

I watched the level of the crankcase oil rise over time from when I first bought the vehicle in April to well over the full mark(1.5 cm above the full). At 5300 miles I changed the oil and sent a sample to Blackstone Labs for analysis. The analysis report showed fuel in the oil at 8.8%...

    Flashing third tail light

I removed the chip that causes the third brake light to flash in my Hyundai today. It had been installed by the dealer. After reading the pros and cons in this thread, I just decided I'd rather be legal even though I doubt police know or enforce the federal law on this. I think it does get...

    Flashing third tail light

Came installed on my Hyundai Ioniq by the dealer, no charge, no mention. I noticed it one night pulling into my garage. A flashing third or center brake light is not illegal in Illinois but it may be illegal for all three brake lights to flash. The wording is ambiguous and is probably a case of...

Hyundai changes warranty wording after FTC warning

I also have a 2010 Kia Sedona for fishing, camping, and hauling stuff. Replaced brakes, a belt tensioner, and a door latch. That's all. My first Kia was a 1992 Ford Festiva. Replaced brakes, belt, and fluids in 12 years. Most cars don't give trouble if you take care of them. Hard to say what's...

Ever Regret Starting the Motor Oil Journey?

There's a few threads I regret reading like the boy in the Honda Odyssey. But mostly it has been very informative and helpful.

    hybrid ICE wear

Since most engine wear occurs at startup and a hybrid ICE starts and stops significantly more often than a gas only car engine, can one expect more engine wear on the hybrid ICE? I drive a hybrid mostly on a 10 mile drive to work with several stop lights. The gas engine starts and stops maybe...

How often do you use your moonroof?

Only to let out heat while parked on summer days and it wasn't that good at it. Will never get another one.

    wheel offsets

My OE wheels are 15 X 6 et46. I am looking at a new set of wheels for winter tires but the closest sizes I can get are 15 x 6 et38 or 15 x 6.5 et40. I know the wheel manufacturers say these wheels will fit but what affect will the difference offsets have? From www.wheel-size.com it shows that...

You talk about building a relationship with a dealer that you can trust. It sounds like you are saying they are not earning your trust and they are instead earning your mistrust. Walk away and never look back.

    Chicago area winter tires

I've been driving for over 40 years around here and never put on a set of winter tires and never had a problem managing with all seasons. I'm older now and losing my confidence. I'm thinking about winter tires for safer driving starting next winter. The communities I drive through are good at...

    3x5' flag for a home?

According to the flag code , 3x5 are the wrong dimensions. The length should be 1.9 times the width - typically 2x4 or 3x6. If you look at a 3x5 flag it'll look too short or too wide. and you can't fold a 3x5 flag properly.
