Oil Brand consideration Mobil 1 to Kirkland

Heh... barely watch this forum the last few years... not much has changed LOL. If an oil has the spec and viscosity recommended, go for it, and use your brain cells for something that will pay you dividends versus something that lives rent free in your head for nothing ;) M1, only going in my...

New AC Delco PF66 opened up

Never a fan of uneven pleating, especially when paired with a plastic "cage style" centre tube. How hard can it be to add three more pleats to ensure the integrity of the media!!

Cadillac ATS 2.0T - Three Oil Filters C&P

Agreed, and this one was no different. Stiff and hard (especially in the cold) compared to the silicon ADBV's on the others. Huge difference in pliability.

Cadillac ATS 2.0T - Three Oil Filters C&P

Same, this filter came with my last "free service" by the dealer. I've had two ACDelco's blow holes in my past due to uneven and shoddy pleating. While this one held up, a plastic cage style inner core could have made it #3.

Cadillac ATS 2.0T - Three Oil Filters C&P

Finally got around to cutting open three filters I've used on the ATS 2.0T. The ATS currently has 130,000 KMs and runs like new. First Pic: Left: Champion COS10575, Right: Champion COS10590 Second Pic: ACDelco PF64 My favorite of the three is the COS10590. Most media, most consistently spaced...

    2022 Suz DR650SE

This weekend I researched air filtering on the stock bike. After reading a few threads I realized the carb breather (small circular tube laying just beside the stock airbox) filter needs periodic attention along with the main airbox filter. The carb breather filter is often neglected, leading to...

    $60k Harley Davidson?!!

I got my 2017 loaded R1200GS in 2021 for $16k Canadian with only 8,000 KMs on it! My buddy spent the bank on his loaded K1600GTL. Great bike, endless power, and I got to ride it around the Cabot Trail last year. The rear suspension does NOT like your average bumps in the road though... But he...

If your spouse loves riding, that's all you need to know! My wife said she would consider it if I got a Goldwing 😁

    $60k Harley Davidson?!!

But I could buy like 10 brand new Suzuki DRs for that money! 😁 I bet they sell them all... and if I had an airplane hanger, and a few mil in the bank, I'd be one of those buyers... just because.

    Mahle OC619 - 2017 BMW R1200GS - 7,000KM

After rereading this thread, I think the most interesting part is the lack of ADBV! Just noticed that now… did I forget to take a picture of it..? I suspect it just didn’t exist…

Stock tank (13L) = ~260 KM Acerbis 5.3 (20L) = ~400 KM Assuming 5L/100KM mileage. Higher on freeway, lower on backcountry roads. I got as a low as 4L/100KM on the DR, but that's easy going 80km/h (50MPH).

    2019 Ranger 2.3T Ecoboost - MC Full Synth 5w30 - 10,414 miles

"Defecating" 😁 There are years of consensus on here that Blackstone under reports fuel dilution. I would read this report as there is "at minimum 2.0% fuel in the oil sample". The ending viscosity and flash tell us there's likely more than 2.0%. Do oil manufacturers test their oil against...

Got the car back, runs perfect again. Keep an eye on those WYE hose folks! Looks like mine has been leaking for a while and I should have caught it earlier.
