    Taurus SHO ignition problems

So...there's a metal disc of sorts that goes on the crankshaft, has three 'veins' for the sensor to pickup. What would cause one of those to bend and chew up the sensor? It's been sealed behind a timing cover this whole time, and there's no debris in there

    Taurus SHO ignition problems

Erm...was checking that with the voltmeter and got nothing, so I checked the power. Long story short...if I'm getting continutiy between positive and ground, that's bad. right? Like, red probe on positive, black probe on, lets say, alternator? random bolt? "BEEEEP"

    Taurus SHO ignition problems

Seems to be no output from the DIS to the coil, at least not according to my incandescent test probe. I had the DIS tested on a bench machine tho and it passed. Now what do I look for?

    Taurus SHO ignition problems

Well, doing a sanity/resistance check on the new wires I got, a few were as high as 55kOhm. It's maybe 3 foot at best. That's...not good, right?

    Taurus SHO ignition problems

Yeah...can't buy *jack* for this motor. Some parts you can't even get new aftermarket lol. There is like, one specialty SHO supplier and his stuff looks just like my CarQuest junk, but he's at least well respected by the SHO community so I'll still trust his selection first (even at double the...

    Taurus SHO ignition problems

Hello, in a time cruch but I'll get yall up to speed. Fixing a 1994 Taurus SHO MTX, car uses a Low Data Rate ODB-I compliant EEC-IV computer with a waste-spark distributorless ignition. And she don't run. Sometimes get some detonation while trying to crank, sometimes at WOT I can get her going...

    Question about Motorcraft belts Sizes

Thanks, is that a genuine Ford article? Kinda looks like it. So, say my PS belt, is 50 3/4th inch. Now, that is the outside, but most belts seem to be measure by "effective length" at the cord line. ELI5, plz.

    Question about Motorcraft belts Sizes

Hi, two part question. Getting new serpentine belts for the '94 SHO MTX. First, I would like an opinion on brand, since Ford/Motorcrafts are long discontinued. The engine was actually built by Yamaha in Japan, and since I'm spiffing her up for the annual car SHOw, looks are just as important as...

    Glas Weld COAT vs Opti-Lens

How long does it last? How well can it be polised to not look like spray paint? While we're at it, good recomendation for gluing the lens to the housing? Butyl seems to be the go-to, but can you get that in a grayish color to match the factory? Or is there a better suggestion.

    Glas Weld COAT vs Opti-Lens

Just how hard is applying the Glasweld? I've heard a few have had trouble with it streaking, and the alignment bumps might make it hard to apply correctly. But I havn't heard much bad otherwise. The Cerakote, i've heard is pretty good for that category of product, but not a long term solution...

    Glas Weld COAT vs Opti-Lens

Makes sense, although I would think a clearcoat can still be polished after the fact. For me, I want the best of the best. Havn't seen any comparison from one wipe-on to the next.

    Glas Weld COAT vs Opti-Lens

What yall's opinion on headlight UV coatings? I'm restoring the lights on my '94 SHO, as new ones simply don't exist. I want to give them the best chance of not yellowing again (or at least as long as possible). Already bought the Micro-Mesh kit for the cleaning phase. I've read a few good...

Okay, actually found a couple more that meet my criteria but I think I am going to go with the Maxxis, seems to have the best wet weather reviews of the few I saw. So does anypony know a reputable shop that will ship to the US?

Huh, Wierd that the Maxxis has one and it's also a non-US tire. Infact, they both look like they have DOT codes as well. I;ve seen other sizes of the HS52s with a grade

Well, trying to choose between the two and I can't find anything about the UTQG for the Kumho. Also their customer service won't answer any of my emails.
