Cleared out my old oil supply and found 3 unopened gallons of SL rated Rotella. At one time I religiously used this in my Jeep, but haven't touched it in over a year now that I run Rotella 5W40 in it. Should I sell this stuff on ebay or should I just run it in the lawmower & snowthrower to use...

Good stuff. I found this at Menards and have since bought a ton of it to use in my 97 Jeep TJ 4.0. It was $8 and some change for a gallon jug.

I was just at Walmart and saw that this oil is no longer a 5W40. It's now a fricking 5W30. That doesn't work for me (and I'm sure many others). Now I have to go back to using "the inferior" Rotella T syn 5W40. Anyone know why Mobil went and messed with it?

Let's see how we compare to each other. Give a time interval and type of cleaner you are using. I'm using Techron cleaner and use it in my fuel injected engines every 2 years.

I was at Target the other day and noticed that they had Purolator furnace filters! They didn't have my size, but I thought it was cool. I never knew they were in the home furnace filter business. I wonder what other filters they make?

Do all oils, including HDEO, have seal conditioners like a high mileage type oil? Thanks

What Walmarts stock Rotella T 5W40 synthetic? I went to the one in Bridgeview and they don't carry it, they only have the 15W40.

How often are you changing the fluid and filter in yours? I've changed mine every 30K in the past, but I'm thinking about doing it yearly~15K. I've got 85K on it now and I want it to last as long as physically possible.

Put it on my 97 Wrangler today and I'm going to take it off tomorrow. Why? There's very little clearance between it and the control arm/mount for my tastes. It was worth a shot though. Do other TJ owners that are running this sized filter not care about the tight clearance?
