    Strange piston deposits?

    This is from a BMW S54 engine with 94k miles. I just bought it 3k miles ago. The engine looks reasonably clean under the valve cover so I think it's had regular oil changes. Not sure what's going on here though. Any thoughts?

    M1 ESP X4 0W-40 4.2k mi; 2010 Mazda 3 2.5L 143.7k mi

    Here is the latest UOA. There was a lot of idle time and bumper-to-bumper NJ/NYC traffic. First sample was M1 FS 0W-40 after unknown 0W-20. Second sample is ESP X3. Third sample is ESP X4. Interesting that the ESP X4 has almost the same levels of ZDDP as the FS now.

    Red Line products out-of-stock?

    I noticed a lot of Red Line products have become unavailable, even directly, like the Assembly Lube, some High Performance oils, etc. I assume this is related to the operational relocation, but it doesn't give much confidence. This has to be temporary, right?

    M1 ESP X3 0W-40 - 5042 mi - 2010 Mazda 3 2.5

    Sample 1 is FS 0W-40 (visc low from residual 0W-20). Sample 2 is ESP X3 0W-40. 5k miles but a lot of idle time and traffic. Looking good, TBN a little low but didn't do VOA so it might start low. Held viscosity really well. Removed unit time because it's wrong.
