4L60E's can live at that power level if built right. I have a 4L80E that will see 1200 rwhp already built with the much needed help from Chris in a different car.

Haven't gotten that far yet into the gear ratios, but I'm assuming it can be wired to manually shift (or to rule out electrical issues) similar to the 4L80E.
