Can short shifting actually cause wear to a motor?

I suspect that the bearings of most modern engines are sized and designed to maintain 'enough' oil film throughout the entire operational RPM / Throttle range. Dynamic load does go up with the square of RPM. Static load is largely proportional to torque output. The bearing sees the sum of...

    What upgrade would you made?

6 hours sounds a little high, even for a V engine. (We are talking valve cover gaskets, right?) The rear bank can't be that hard to access, can it Assuming the car uses rubber gaskets, all you should need are the tools, time, new gasket set, and a tiny quirt of high quality RTV. As HTSS...

    Oil fill hole photos

Italian tune up doesn't necessarily require hours at redline. Repeated short bursts of full throttle at high rpm will do a pretty good job. Got a long, fairly steep hill nearby?

    What upgrade would you made?

Valve cover gaskets? $900!? Do it yourself for $50 in parts, and be sure to take pictures of your valve train. BITOG loves pics of engine guts! The one thing I would 'upgrade' is your oil change interval. 7~8K will not begin to be a problem. 5K is a waste of good oil, IMO. If you're itching...

Only 2000 Miles. Why oil so dark? Pics attached.

Color DOES matter, to a degree. If it were jet black after only 2k, I'd worry about poor ring sealing, or significant (not necessarily harmful) sludge. IMO, your oil is only somewhat dark - it looks fine to me. Call back in another 5K, when you can't see the dipstick. I also wonder about...

    Little Engines, High RPM's......which oil????

If you want to use something thicker, go ahead! Any decent 30w will work fine. Given your cold winters, a 0W-30 might be the perfect oil. For guidance, find out what Toyota and Hyundai recommend for the same vehicles sold in Europe, Australia, etc. Try asking the members of a Yaris owners...

    '93 Camry - Oil Question

You might pull the valve cover to check for extensive sludge. The results of this inspection will guide your OCIs. The sparkly oil is a worry too, although there's nothing more you can do about it. (Clean oil, quality filter.)

what is the best way to get all old old out?

One more opinion can't hurt... (Can it? ) Plan #1 Buy an extra 4~5 quarts of whatever oil you're using and use it to flush the engine after dumping the old stuff. SAVE this cleaning oil for future use and/or use it to top off the engine as needed. If you're REALLY retentive, repeat with a...

Any chance of you doing the work yourself? Most axles swaps don't require Guru levels of mechanical ability. You may need a big breaker bar or even an impact wrench to bust the axle nut.
