    Nissan CVT7 JF015E

Recently purchased a car brand new that comes with a Nissan CVT7 JF015E that is widely used in a bunch of cars from Nissan, Suzuki, Chevrolet etc. I-ve been experiencing some weird issues when starting the car every morning. Everytime the car is started for the first time in the morning (Warm...

How to know if PCV valve is broken/clogged

A few years ago i had a rough idling issue with the E39 M54 (6 Cylinder N/A) and i remember that one of the methods used to diagnose if the PCV was broken (Apart from disassembling it) was to pull the oil fill cap with the engine idling and if there was an insane vacuum holding the oil fill cap...

    Kia recommended OCI

Ended up changing oil at 10K Kilometers a couple months ago. Im almost reaching my next OCI. Planning to do 12K Kilometers this time, no oil added between in past or current OCIs. Dipstick is reading 3/4 to full mark right now and im almost at 10K. Checked the engine through the oil fill hole...

    Kia recommended OCI

Currently own a small Kia city car (Kia Picanto) as a daily commuter. About 40% of my daily commute is highway (Around 90-100kmh at 3k RPM) while the rest is city driving. Currently using the cheapest dino oil i can find around which happens to be Chevron Supreme 10W-30 with a OE Kia Filter and...

Mazda 1WPE-14-302 Filter 5k mi - Mystery Bypass!

5k miles and that thing still looks almost new? (Oil is still so clear) That engine must burn fuel pretty good.

    Mann vs Fram Ultra?

There have been a couple of horror stories about Fram Ultra-s in Euro cars. I-d just stick with OEM such as Mann.

    Laptop suggestion

Apple computers are actually pretty good in terms of build quality. Problem is i cant get anything done on it aside from web browsing, just like their phones. I-d never consider a Mac over a quality Windows. Only brand i-d avoid is Acer low end / budget laptops, they have terrible keyboard that...

    Which filter?

Fram actually specs the PH5594A Filter for this engine. (Based in Fram Euro Filter catalogue since this engine is not available in the USA) Is it similar to the XG9688? Only thing i could find about it in the official site is the thread spec which is the same, not sure about the gasket size...

6 Months and 6800 miles on 2016 Spark

Dealers here arent like in the USA or other parts of the world. I mean, its latin america, i can bet that most technicians in dealers are really just guys with some wrenching time under their belts and no training at all. The only brand that has been using CVTs for quite a while down here is...

6 Months and 6800 miles on 2016 Spark

To be honest i wouldve bought the Spark if it came with a regular AT. There arent any shops that i know of that can even service a CVT here so its a no go.

6 Months and 6800 miles on 2016 Spark

I got the Kia Picanto for over 2K less than the Spark, although the Spark did come better equipped.

6 Months and 6800 miles on 2016 Spark

I was considering getting one of these but it being Chevy and the fact that it was the first CVT being sold here by Chevrolet, i had doubts about its reliability. Ended up with a Kia Picanto, which i will pick up on Monday.

    Favorite motherboard manufacturer these days?

Currently using a Gigabyte P35-DS3L that i bought new in May 2008. Almost 9 years later, 2 CPU changes (They did not die, i just upgraded them), 3 dead GPUs, 3 dead PSUs, 1 Dead RAM and this thing is still running like it was the first day. Insane. The first GPU which was also made by Gigabyte...

To change or not to change?

Current Toyota truck is barely used, 2.5k miles in the past 12 months. Current fill is Delo LE 400 15W-40 and Fram Ultra. Should i drain and refill or should i leave it there? Tropical climate, high humidity and basically summer the whole year. Car is only used once or twice a week.

    Driving style doesn't change mpg?

I'd say that driving conservatively might save up to 10% fuel when compared to driving aggressively. Thinks like driving at the right speeds, coasting as much as you can . . . hypermiling etc.
