Potential cross to the Amsoil EaBP!!!!!

Dealer?? I wasn't assigned a dealer. I placed all but the last transaction through Amsoil directly. Everything I ordered (short the MTF) was straight through Amsoil. It was shipped straight from their distribution center in south central pennsylvania (as told to me by Amsoil, so they could...

Potential cross to the Amsoil EaBP!!!!!

I also forgot, not unlike every other bypass filter, the luber-finer has no internal bypass valve. They will not flow if they become plugged... steved

Potential cross to the Amsoil EaBP!!!!!

They told me the change interval is dependant on oil analysis, which is the answer every bypass filter manufacturer provides. So I guess the answer is end user defined using UOA. I'll PM you when I get closer to pulling the BMK-11 off... steved

Potential cross to the Amsoil EaBP!!!!!

First, I don't care if you have been a dealer for 27 years, I had issues with Amsoil, Period. Just because you are a dealer doesn't mean they didn't screw up. What does YOUR 7 years as a dealer have to do with this?? Were YOU personally involved in this transaction?? Were you aware I haven't...

    Would you hate me??

The trans calls for synchromesh...so I'll blend the two for the time being and see if it improves. If it does, I'll keep upping the MT-90 until I have a problem (most likely with shifting)... steved

Any experience with Cooper Discoverer M&S?

I had a set of cooper discoverer "LT"s in the 255x85r16 flavor...they were among the best "snow" tire I ever had on a truck. They gave about 40k of wear, but that was supporting a 7k pound truck (my "empty" weight, sometimes I was pushing 9k loaded). Another one to look at (also made by cooper)...

BF-G Traction TA vs. Precept Touring

I have them on my outback and while they can be noisey depending on the road surface; the handling, wet weather performance, and snow grip are second to none. You would not be disappointed in the traction TAs...but make sure which "traction" you get...one has large tread blocks, the other looks...

    Amsoil Preferred Customer Questions.....

Make sure you give Amsoil TWO FULL DAYS to activate your account if you are a PC and need to order something online. I will leave it at that. steved

Potential cross to the Amsoil EaBP!!!!!

OK, the restriction is 0.101" which is significantly bigger than a 1/16" @ 0.0625 or 3/32" @ 0.0938, but smaller than 1/8" @ 0.125 and 7/64" @ 0.109... Looks like I'll need to "modify" the restriction for my smaller flow application. I am currently running 1/16"... steved

    Would you hate me??

I ran it a little bit (just straight MTL ot MTL with some Lucas additive) early last summer, then had an Amsoil rep talk me into the MTF last fall when I added the coolers. The Redline seemed to do the job then, hopefully it will do the job again. I'm going to have a UOA done on the Redline to...

    Synthetic, still make sense?

Other than I run a bypass, my Rotella 15w40 looked good at 10k...I am changing bypass setups, so I will need to do it again, but I will most likely stretch out to 15k intervals unless I plan on some towing or actually working the truck. steved

Potential cross to the Amsoil EaBP!!!!!

I wouldn't see where they would be any different from any other spin-on filter...the Amsoil is rated for 60k, and the LuberFiner is another 2 inches longer than the EaBP110. I am waiting for a phone call from LuberFiner about the orifice restriction size. I am going to ask them too if these...

Is the Baldwin B-164 a good bypass filter?

That's slightly more than mine, but that could be temperature or oil viscosity differences. That's still not enough to pull enough oil from the fullflow to cause any problems... steved

Potential cross to the Amsoil EaBP!!!!!

Hmmm, I missed that Q & A...I thought I was reading about the extended intervals in the abstract. I am still waiting for some clarification on some other offers, but if they fall through, this will be my next filter. steved

Potential cross to the Amsoil EaBP!!!!!

Got a local Luber-Finer dealer to get me a cost... Filter is $70 and the base is $38. which isn't that horribly bad considering how long you could run on them... I am waiting a call back from Luber-Finer about the restriction size...but from the pictures, it looks like there are three 1/4"ish...

Is the Baldwin B-164 a good bypass filter?

I just found somthing odd...Wix lists the LF778 as 28u nominal and the LF777 as 5u nominal. I guess different applications and therefore different requirements??? That LF777 is a big filter...4.7 inches diameter and almost 10 inches long. steved

Is the Baldwin B-164 a good bypass filter?

I should have also added: The Fleetguard LF778 is the same as the Baldwin B-164, which both cross to a Wix 51704. So you have the answer from Fleetguard for their filter...10u @ 98.6% and 5u @ 95%. And you have another option of where to buy filters... 95% @ 5u isn't that bad actually, if you...

Does anyone use trueflow air filters? Opinions?

I have one for my 04.5 Dodge Cummins...it was a really nice filter. But after 25k, trying to clean it was all but impossible. I have been told to clean it in diesel fuel or kerosene, and that doesn't hurt the material. I was really impressed with the seal and what seemed like very good...

F350 ZF 6 Speed Tranny Fluid

I know I had trouble with RP in my NV5600, but it works well in my transfercase which is spec'd for ATF+4...I would not hesistate to use it in a manual tranny that spec'd ATF. steved
