    Nissan Altima 2.5 4 cyl.....what oil?

I have been using GC in my 2.5 Altima for the last 3 years, your engine will love it. These engines do like a thicker oil so your PP 5W-40 will do nice as a summer oil.

    Which cars specify 10W-40?

My brother's Alfa 166 calls for 10W-40 only. He was hesitant to use some 5W-40 I gave him for top off oil, I told him he should be fine with the 5W-40.

    ELF oils

I used this oil in my Altima's this summer and was pleased with it. Got good gas milage on the highway same as the GC I ran last summer. Cars were quiet and they ran real smooth too. Overall I think this is a decent oil.

    Pennzoil Platinum Date Codes

JOHNNY.... Thanks for the date code expanation, I was able to score some PP at Home Depot for $2.60 per qt. but I didn't remember when the change was made. Based on your comments, the oil I got was bottled in March, 2005 so it should be the Gp V stuff Woohoo!! Thanks again.

    10W-40 in 2.5 Nissan

I'm running a 5W-40 in my 2.5L Altima for the summer months also. I find the engine is very quite and very peppy on acceleration too. Short trip milage is down 1 mpg or so but highway mpg seems to be up 1-2 mpg. I will be putting 0W-30 in for the winter months later. FYI 5W-40 is ELF Excellium...

    Elf any good?

I'm running their LDX Excellium 5W-40 in my cars for the summer months and it seems to be a very nice oil. A small hit on gas milage in city driving but no change in highway driving. Cars are nice and quite too.

    VW W8 and Motul 8100 0W-40?

Might I suggest ELF Excellium LDX 5W-40? This oil meets the VW 502/505 specs and you can get a discount on it too. There is a site sponsor that sells this oil and from what I can find it seems to be a well made oil. Go to the Sponsors area and look for ELF Distributor and tell him your are a...
